I don't think thats the case at all. IMO the Rockets are in a pretty good position trade wise. The only real bind I see is that a trade will most likely have to be (at least) a 3 way deal, which in the end I think really ends up helping the team because it will provide more options. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised to see at least 4 teams change places in the top 10.

It would be a disaster for the Chinese gov if MING (one of if not the most popular athlete in China) became "Americanized. that’s the sort of thing that makes an oppressive gov cringe.

As far as the Chinese gov is concerned it is their business. The Chinese gov is like the Borg queen. They don’t care about the individual. They only care about the collective. Yeh I'm a treki:D

Here's an awesome trade. The Rockets trade the #1 pick to the Cavs for Andre Miller and the #6 pick. The thing that could really change our team around is a true playmaker. If Francis is willing to play the 3, we would truely have the best backcourt in the NBA. Then we could go out and draft Borchard for our 5 spot. Just a thought.

I'm in favor of drafting Ming, but there is no rule that we MUST draft Ming #1. If the Rockets want to draft Williams #1 and trade him, that is our right. Screw the Chinese on that one!

I'd love to just draft Williams and hold out for the best trade. It would really stick it to the league and the Bulls.

But, it won't happen. I still think Ming is a certainty.
