Gilbert Arenas is like his name implies a ZERO. He's a injury prone, a disruption in the locker room, self centered and over paid. Any GM that makes a trade for him is looking to get fired.
Forget all the talk about his injuries and "eccentricities" Arenas, even playing at his prime, has never been a good team player - he's a super talented offensive guy that thrives in isolation and that's it. Not terribly different from Iverson. You just aren't going to win with guys like that. They aren't selfish by nature, they're just not effective feeding others or playing without dominating the ball. Arenas today is probably one of the most immovable contracts, along with Brand. At least AK47, VC, and Peja are expiring, and Rashard Lewis can score. Washington would seriously need to pony up a couple first rounders for me to even think about giving up VC's expiring deal for him if I'm running Orlando.
Arenas has a monster contract, may not even be good, has a history of inkuries, and has known to been a distraction.
They need something to put them over the top, the current roster that they have will not win them a championship. I'm not saying that Arenas is the answer but they gotta do something.
I dont see why not. Arenas was a top 3 closer at one point. Orlando needs a closer, Arenas is that guy
Am I the only one who thinks a conversation like this might have have taken place before they discussed this? Bucher: "C'mon! C'mon! We need something to talk about! What about Arenas to Orlando for Carter?" Broussard: "Who the hell is going to argue in favor of that?" Bucher: "Flip a coin? Paper, rock, scissors?" Broussard: "I don't know, man, whoever argues in favor of Orlando making that move is going to look like a moron." Bucher: "Screw it. I've got no pride. I'll do it if you'll buy dinner." Broussard: "Deal."
i wish they would trade for a true power forward so Lewis can be the one-dimensional player that he is at the 3.
