#1, Lin is not a "great" player and is a long way from that. I have hopes, but the onus is on Lin to rise to the occasion and prove his doubters wrong. A couple of 38 pts games does not a great player make.

#2, Most everyone is down on Lin right now. If you poll all the pundits and asked them what they expected his 3pt percentage would be last year, they would say probably 33% and not factor in any improvement in the second half of the season or potential for growth, because they just don't know. They've probably watched a total of 3 Rockets games total! I remember several announcers calling Lin slow or even called an excellent shooter. Obviously, they haven't watched our games. The point is, it don't matter what they think.

#3, I don't think we can win it all this year. I'll never count the Rockets out but everything is just too new and we're just too young and inexperienced. Several years later maybe.

#4, Lin is badly underrated right now. If he were a stock, I'd buy now while the stock is low. It's the nature of who he is. It's been like that, and it's gonna be like that.

OT: Why hasn't Jeremy Lin greeted Dwight or even mentioned his name yet on twitter?

He probably has privately..I think Dwight mentioned he's been in contract with him. Lin has tweeted anything in 2 weeks anyway.

Asik is an all star center base on stats, but as you might realize, the all star is a beauty contest

THX for posting, good read ! :)

like the first coach but he isn't correct with everything !.. i.e. about Jeremy Lin.. he's at his best without any stars.. i.e. vs. Spurs -Harden last year -> 38 pts

last year we designed the attacking offense which prized 3s, lay-ups and stayed away from the mid-range.

i'm confident our FO and coaches can tweak our offense to take advantage of Dwight in the middle. Tons of PnRs, baby. Dwight will need to learn to locate his shooters. Parsons will reprise Turkoglu's role in ORL's most successful season. We can still play fast enough to give enough touches to everyone. And when our shooters miss, we're more likely to get the rebounds.

We'll just have to sell Asik on being patient. He doesn't know his role yet; he's already complaining.

He's back sleeping on someones couch again in hopes to relive Linsanity... no time to tweet... ;-)

Hope he's gonna come through this year, I like him but he needs to be effective even if he hasn't the ball in his hand the whole time...

He needs to knock those wide open 3s' down ! otherwise ???

Did he really complain or is it again the media who's making stuff up ?
    Can't imagine Omer complaining ??
at least, like you said, until he knows his role....

You're probably right. Just seems a bit odd since Lin was always the first one greeting teammates on twitter. Really hope he stays because i know Jeremy will be very good next season.

The great thing about being forced to keep Lin because of his poor trade market...he's gonna be better next year. The key with Lin is patience; because you know he's gonna put in the work to get better. I suspect that most orgs will think Lin is worth his cap number by the end of next season (likely not his salary because of the ballon payment with the way Morey structured it). Waiting to the trade deadline, or even next offseason season to move Lin will likely net us much more than getting 10 cents on the dollar right now. Very pleased with the patient approach Morey has taken in his shopping of both Lin and Asik. We simply don't have to make a deal right now.

You are right, he's gonna put in the work to get better and that's what i like about him so much ! I'm pretty confident that he'll come back strong and hope we gonna keep him ! he's very smart and has a high Basketball IQ, I'm sure this will help us a lot ! He only need to make those open 3s' !

This is a bit of a concern for me as well in terms of championship hopes this season. As talented as they are, I don't see them as leaders on a championship team. Dwight doesn't even seem to know his game fully yet and maturity level is a question mark. I'm not sold on Harden yet seeing is effort on defense and his decision making in crucial spots. I think Harden can grow into that role, but he needs some time. I wouldn't mind seeing McHale get on them a bit this season and raising the expectations.

Dwight sh b n Houston with Dream working on low post game, especially the jump hook, midrange jumper, and his free throws. Also invest in Condoms bcuz Houston women r coming hard to get piece of the $88mln

"I don't know that Houston has grittiness."

Someone hasn't seen Houston play in the last five or so years.

Amen to that, it's very difficult to be an expert on every team. Those guys just do a good job of pretending to be. I think I once heard Hubie Brown say Asik has great hands.

I highly doubt they contend for a championship this upcoming season or even the next season. Maybe in 2-3 years they will have a good shot but now, no.

am I the only one that thinks the "twin towers" line up will work on offense?

    A. we can just give it to Dwight let him work on the block and if he misses who cares Asik will most likely clean it up

    B. the more arms in the way of harden going to the basket the more likely it is he will draw a foul. who cares if Dwight and Omer cant hit threes put them down in the corner anyway and let their defenders sag. if harden doesn't draw a foul Asik and more importantly Dwight will be there to clean up the wild attempt or lob after their defender leave them.

is this logic flawed? may be someone with more X's and O's experience can shed some light.
