Doesn't matter who they draft. The team lacks offensive firepower, and the 3-4-5 starters are garbage.
The entire point of drafting good players is so the 3-4-5 starters in the future will not be garbage and to add offensive firepower in the future. The players we draft now will not be big leaguers for at least 3 to 4 years.
What they need to do is hire a manager that will stay for the long haul. This constantly firing and re-hiring managers every few years doesn't reflect well towards our FO (and yes I think the FO does share much of the blame even if Cooper was terrible).
Agree, this hire should be looked as a long term guy who will grow with the young kids that come up and also manage the veterns we have now or we'll pick up. I really am getting more and more excited as I here more grumblings about Gonzalez being let go in Florida, really like what his done with that squad. Not really sure why the owner expected to be in the playoffs with as low a payroll as they have but there loss could be our gain.
Move the discussion North. I started a new thread for this kind of stuff. Edit: There is nothign wrong with this thread, I just want to start moving things to the new thread for housekeeping reasons.
