You alluded to this in the second part of your post, but I don't think giving up on the TT would reduce Asik's trade value. There's not much leverage to be had since we aren't in a "bind" to trade him.....we don't HAVE to as you said. As well, assuming there are multiple teams who could use his services, all you need is one team to want him bad enough to give the right amount for him.

Anyway the point being, if abandoning TT doesn't really affect Asik's trade value, I don't think a demonstration of it now as we are seeing is for the purpose of showcasing Asik (for trade value reasons) but then rather truly seeing if it can work. I think McHale and DM are honestly trying to see if this can work or not.

why can't they throw a non-bounce pass to Asik?

I'll take winning 80% of our game, which would be 64 wins, even if we so called have to struggle.

Sheesh. At least we know the national media is finding the team almost as interesting as we do.

I wish all the media will just shut up and start judging the Rockets from now on w/ Beverley as the starter. Let's see if the Clippers can score that easy again...i doubt it.

Whole lot of blah blah considering we're 4-1. Yeah, let's try to do something different, like 5-0 or 3-2 or 2-3 or 1-4 or 0-5. As long as we're in the WC top four teams, I say there's no way they're trading Asik.

Someone else called it: it seems like a total Morey move to trade for a 4 while keeping Asik at the same time. I bet that's what happens. If we want to go deep into the playoffs, we want Asik as the backup center.

I think the early turnovers with trying to establish Dwight as a post player has been the real issue. We start the 1st qtr from behind not because Dwight is not really comfortable posting it seems - maybe he's not used to it yet as L.A. didn't use him that way so he's rusty.

Also we are shooting atrociously from 3 point range in the 1st quarter. Both Parsons and Harden have started with slumps while Caspi and Garcia have been red-hot.

I think these two factors are contributing to make it look like the twin tower line-up isn't working. When in reality it just needs more time to build a statistical data set.

I don't think they are showcasing Asik. I think they are experimenting and really trying to find a way to make it work for both bigs. It's way too early to give up on Asik. If they do decide to move him, I don't think it will be until the trade deadline, when teams will more or less know what they have and the better offers will start to come in.

You don't trade Asik for Ryan Anderson or Illyasova. Morey has the leverage here, the team is playing well while other teams could either tank and look to move players (Horford I wish) or overpay if they are making a run or have an injury.

No reason to do anything but be patient.

I think you keep doing the TT.

    1) It may need time to work. By time, I don't mean 5 or 10 games. Maybe half a season or more.

    2) Maybe in Houston Asik's perceived value wont change if he were playing 12 minutes per game, but I am pretty sure around the rest of the league it would.

    3) The idea that we can just pass if we don't get adequate offers assumes that a adequate one arises in time. I would say disbanding TT prematurely vastly increases the chances that all the offers become less, further reducing our chances of getting anything approaching adequate.

In my view, perception outweighs fact often. As long as Asik is starting, the perception is we are not desperate to move him. And as long as Asik is starting and playing substantial minutes, other GM's get a good look at what he is now. What he was last year fades quickly in peoples minds, so I think it better to keep his value fresh and in the present. Meanwhile, while TT continues on, the experiment gets the time it needs to mature.
