Denver wants Derrick Favors because Kenyon Martin is at the end of his contract and is nowhere near the player he used to be.

To be sure, it is a big deal. Most teams have one or more such contracts, and they have to work around them. We don't have them because our overly-maligned (here, the last 6 months, anyhow) GM has done a great job of avoiding them.

The fact that it's a negative is exactly why Denver is willing to take less in talent to give us Nene. We can handle it; we just need to avoid having very many of these.

I would be happy to do the deal if the "picks" were a single 1st-rounder, no more, and I don't mean a pick that was likely to be top-5. In today's NBA, good centers demand a premium. We aren't the only team that doesn't have a good, real center.

And yes, in Nene's case, I would want the extension before I'd do the deal. He has made too big a deal out of how he wants to play in Denver.

    ?

That wasn't necessary? He was talking about Nene only having one testicle, it wasn't a shot at you..

I would rather have javale mcgee than nene. Do you think he would cost us more? Like it or not nene is not a shot blocking big man that controls the paint. He is an offensive oriented center. We have plenty of offense weapons on this team... We need to add a shot blocking board snagging monster and McGee is that. If we could acquire Wallace and McGee we would make the playoffs.

Oh no doubt, McGee would be a great pickup. Much better for the Rockets than Nene, in my opinion.

I seriously doubt Morey could pry him away from Washington, though.

McGee will never be as good as Nene. This is his third season and he still looks completely clueless on the floor. Just doesn't have enough between the ears. He shows signs of being tall, and that is really about it.

Nene is not the answer + he will not resign here and do you really want him as your starting center for the future ? No, but in case we get him, it's better than no center to start.

Houston wants Nene bad but sources say Denver unlikely to trade Nene or JR Smith before deadline.

Weren't the Nuggets trying to dump Smith because of his off-court issues these past two years?
