I may be crazy, but I think all of this is shaping up pretty well for the Rox.

The Rockets are probably the last team the Hornets want to deal with, but they have the best offer with Curry and Gordon off the table and the Knicks bringing in Chandler leaving them with no cap space for Paul next year.

A Lowry and Martin for CP3 deal would leave the Rockets with flexibility next summer to sign Dwight. Dalembert could be signed, if the price is right, as a stopgap for this season.

But why would cp3 sign if we cant get chandler or howard...i belive we could get paul...prob even more so if knicks sign chandler...and no way knicks will get cp3 if they do the chandler deal...

maybe next year we try and sign howard with cp3?

You answered your own question. We'd simply use our capspace to sign Howard next year. Or work out some sort of Sign and trade if it can get him more money(I believe not possible in the new CBA though).

It's still a longshot. There are many pieces that needs to fall into place, most of which outside Morey's control. But at least it's plausible. Certainly more plausible than Melo or Bosh were.

With CP3 already in Houston at that point, his buddy CLee as the starting 2, and a full max contract available, maybe Houston seems like a pretty attractive destination for Dwight.

Why on earth would a rebuilding team want Lowry and Martin?

they dont have too..but you can flip lowry martin and scola for more desirable assets...their value is very high to teams that do want to compete...but lowry...is young and cheap...cavs of all teams offered him the contract we signed him too...so ya he would be wanted.

I say it makes sense to do everything possible to attain paul...and go from there. I am sure if nothing else FAs will want to sign with us with him...and if we loose him after...everyone gets their tanking year.

Lowry's young and on a bargain contract.

Martin could easily be moved to a third team for more attractive pieces.

Pat Pat, Morris, Bud, picks, etc. could also be included.

Such as? What desirable assets do competing teams have to give to teams trying to rebuild? The Hornets want to give up their star to get marginal players that they have to try and trade to a contender for something else? I just don't think our offer is that attractive. There is a reason why we keep getting rejected. Our players are average to slightly above average.

True, and that is why free agency to get better has such a low chance of success, worse than another low chance move -trading, because you have to compete with 30 other teams for the same asset.

Whereas DRAFTING a player, there is no competition when you pick, you control the process completely.

At some point, folks are going to look around at what is being done in Houston and wonder if it is the right way to go about it....so far, the results are completely mixed.

I would argue that the results of tanking are "completely mixed" as well. At least we have a competitive team to watch every night.

Serious? They could trade martin to the bulls for their first round pick, and the rights to charlottes first round pick...and omar asik...I am sure something like that... if not them... about 10 other teams would be lining up for him or scola...

I mean I dont know each indivudal teams assets but it would not be hard to flip martin, scola or lowry to any playoff team and prob any team that hopes to be a playoff team.

This is how I look at it. Would the celtics take Lowry/Martin for Rondo? I don't think so. Would the Clippers give us that #1 Sota pick for that duo? Nope? I forgot what the Warriors were offering. I just don't see the appeal in our offer.

haha your crazy...yes they would... rondo is not a superstar...he is slightly better than lowry as a 3rd man/facilitator... plus he is a head case...

If NO got him hed demand a trade by mid season...No way NO does a deal with celtics...Id bet on it!

Would u trade lowry and martin for rondo? as a rockets fan? I know I wouldnt.
