This made me laugh While we're talking about injuries, that's the other situation that bears watching, as this series has taken an increasing toll on both sides. McGrady's knee and Alston's hamstring have been the big stories, but Adelman revealed before the game that he wasn't even sure Shane Battier would be able to play in Game 4 because his foot was so sore. That injury resulted from inadvertent kicking by Seattle's Kevin Durant in a late-season game, and despite taking a couple games off it hasn't healed. Instead, the Rockets' defensive ace has been nursing it through the series as best he can. "It's the playoffs, so I just spit on it and go," Battier said.
The mini-blurb on espn.com/nba that links to the article, says this: "Writing off the Rockets seems like a minor cottage industry. But with Rafer Alston back in the lineup, the Rockets look formidable." I like the first sentence there.
Hollinger is always supportive to the Rockets. In his pre-season predictions, he picked the Rockets as No.1 for winning the Championship this year. After Yao was injured, he still predicted the Rockets have a good chance to advance to the playoffs, though dropping the Rockets out of the championship contenders. A good article to read.
"I wonder if he can tell that I have an erection after that win....uhoh, Rafer's coming over to kiss me."
What a great article. It reminds me how much I love this team. We've got more heart than any other team in the Playoffs. We've just got to dig deep and grind out a win in Utah and we're back where we wanted to be.
battier is a freak of nature. every once in a while he'll slip and show he's clearly hurting but it never effects how hard he works out there.
