3.5 + 2 = 5.5 5.5 > 5.25 (and Lowry will make slightly over 2 next season to be exact) And the point was that we wouldn't be saving money if those numbers are accurate. The Rockets are my boys, not Brooks. I had nothing to do with this.
in a word...no. we have not been out of the first round since he's been here. is that all shane battier's fault? no (well, maybe not ). but at the same time, that means his acquisition wasn't a significant enough addition to the team to get us out of the first round. so what do you mean "EVER had success"? you must have a really loose definition of success. not go 0-82? does every game won count as a success credited towards shane battier?? in that case, i guess stromile swift was a successful acquisition from memphis too.
LOL, who would you consider a bright analyst then. I always held Hollinger in high regard because his numbers back up what he is saying and when they don't he explains exactly why. Hollinger is easily better then 90% of the basketball "analyst" out there.
Yeah we have both been saying the same thing this whole thread. mass confusion on my part. The only thing I am seeing positive is I get to see more Brooks. Don't ruin that for me. At least be a little happy.
I wasn't trying to ruin anything for you. I hope the Rockets succeed, with or without Brooks. I'm just wondering about the numbers. Hollinger says we are saving $3 million next season but I don't see that to be the case at all. It looks like we are actually adding a couple hundred thousand if the site I looked at is accurate.
How can you compare Stromile Swift to Battier? Battier came to this team as a solid role player and had a couple seasons of great defense. So all of a sudden he did not play well bc we did not make it out of the first round with a team plagued with injuries?
he may have been going off of the report that we aren't getting cook? in blinebury's blog that somebody just posted, he says that cook has a player option at $3.5MM, so we can buy him out at a lesser price.
I'm familiar with his writing, and I know for a fact that he watches A LOT of games, live, and he uses both evidence and subjective opinion in his analysis. If you know of any other scouting reports we can read, please post them.
Look even though we have to take on their salary next season it's like the bobby jackson deal where we end up getting 5.5 mil of expiring contracts and especially with the economic downturn and the 2010 FA class we can turn this into a trade the the Ron Artest one
