1-4 is equivalent as 6-24 in basketball Big difference.

all that matters is the win/lose record at the end of the season. However, the end of the season is not looking real good right now

They only stat that matters is W-L after 82 games. If we are in the top 8 in that stat for the Western Conference, than that is great. If we aren't, we may just start over, which isn't necessarily a terrible thing.

Hollinger's rankings use a formula that has been remarkably consistent over the past five years and correlate better to final playoff standings than any other power ranking out there. It's still a small sample size, so one cannot overreact to what it says. Those of us who are actually watching see signs that give cause for alarm, and rightfully so.

And if you think Hollinger doesn't watch games, this was what he posted on Twitter last night:

I prefer looking at it as 13-52. At least that way, we can be sure that we didn't break the all-time losing record. :)

At this moment I think Utah is the hottest. Who have the Lakers beat? Wolves, Kings, Rockets, Grizzlies?

He's wrong, those teams find a way to win close games while we find a way to lose them.

    We suck

For how complicated it is, I don't think is does any better than simply using Point Differential or the Pat Riley stat (rank teams based only on their W/L record of Away Wins vs Home Losses). I follow both those every year, and both are just as good if not better than Hollinger.

    Stats this and stats that.

Hawks I cant vouch for but you would be a fool to think that this Rockets team is better than the Spurs or the Jazz, especially in the playoffs.

Both of these teams have bigs that are more talented and more reliable, and they both have finishers that make good decisions and plays down the stretch.

I dont need stats to tell me that.

I can watch the games and come up with that brilliant conclusion.

I dont even need to stay at a Holiday Inn for this one.
