I've always thought he was exceptional defending the fast break. If he's not in position to take the charge because he's step for step, he'll continue to move forward and not just jump straight up. The offensive player thinks he'll draw contact but just runs into air losing his coordination and throwing up a wild lay up.

thats was an enlightening post by deckard, i guess battier is saying its hard to plot offensive plays during the game but defense is easier and more predictable. i think thats why chemistry in offense is so crucial, if there is no chemistry between players than there can be no success.
