aside from the fact they're completely built for the playoffs anyway, they went to the finals last year. are the heat the only team built for the playoffs in the whole league or something?

y'all are making me defend and pump up the mavs too much (even though i don't really mind them and would rather they win it than the suns or heat or spurs).

I sense great fear in the greater Dallas area... the playoffs are coming, the playoffs are coming!

What's that sucking sound? The wind getting knocked out of the sails.

Is there a 12 game skid in the works? :D

I hope so. (Along with a 14 game Rockets' win streak!)

What I mean is that the Dallas Mavericks could technically roll up a 70-12 record, yet 3 or 4 of those losses could be against a team like Phoenix, and if they met that team in the playoffs, they could lose 4 to that same team. Recently, it does not seem to matter as much if you have the best regular-season record. Isn't that what everyone was saying about the Pistons last year, that they would roll over everybody?

So, a team like the Mavericks could sweep season series against a crapload of teams, yet they can get knocked out of the playoffs if they run into the wrong team. The Mavs could win it all, but it would not surprise me in the least bit if SA, PHO, DET, or MIA win it all, either.

Why We Don't Like The Mavs:

    1. Stackhouse taking cheap shots at Shaq.

    2. Howard taking cheap shots at Yao.

    3. Terry taking cheap shots at Finley's family jewels.

    4. Dirk taking cheap shots at exercise machines.

    5. Avery taking cheap shots at reporters doing their job.

    6. Cuban taking cheap shots at everyone.

But it's real easy to like the Mavs.

I tell you what... I hate Josh Howard. To me he is the biggest whinner on the worst team of whinners in the league. These guys b*tch and moan more then a group of pregnant women in the middle of a Houston summer. I just can't wait for the day that someone turns around and punches him square off in the face. Ron Artest I'm looking for you my man. Sick'em.

You're really going to listen to a guy that looks like this??

This man also rooted against Payton Manning and said Wade won't win another ring...

I can think for myself, thanks.

The man is a genius and speaks the truth. No mention of flopping though. :(

Amazing record, but, somehow, you know in your heart of hearts, they will somehow mess up in the playoffs, like last year. There is something missing in that team and it isn't talent. They have plenty of talent. They just don't have a personality, they seem bland. Given Avery's fire, that is hard to explain. They look bored. The Rockets have lots of personality, they actually have more drama than talent. Whose in JVG's doghouse this week? Has Bonzi left the team? What happened to Kirk Synder? Is TMac injured again? Depressed? Is Yao injured again? Depressed? Has VSpan left for Greece? Will Rafer shoot over the backboard again? Is Battier playing, he disappeared? Is Head on or off? etc. etc. Lots of drama!

    LOL, Houston??

I'm as big of a Rockets fan as any, but c'mon man, you can't be serious. There's no way we get past Phoenix or Dallas this year, and trust that teams like SA and Utah will give us fits.

its hard to love them when the franchise takes on the personality of the whinny owner. ANd yet their team is still one of the most flopping teams in the league
