In a few weeks, Dwight Howard is set to drop Shoot For The Stars, his debut album (if we really want to deem it an album), with tracks like "U Can't Touch This (Howard Time)." We know. You're hoping that while recording "Whoomp (Hoop) There It Is" Howard found some time to develop some staple post-moves so Orlando's not forced to avoid him in the clutch. Well, he did. He carved out three days to work with, arguably, the greatest low-post player in NBA history -- Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon. Dream had as many moves as Kevin McHale mixed with the agility of James Worthy. Kobe, who worked out with him last summer, called him "the Master Shogun". Howard is a smart dude.

The video, however, is startling for one reason: eight years after retirement, Dream looks awesome. Every move he taught Howard (in three days, of course), Dream looked smoother performing. The baseline spin, the fadeaway, the jump hook -- Dream's still got it … even at 47. So let's start some comeback momentum.

You could yank that man off his couch taking a nap, teleport him to an NBA game, give him the rock in the post and he'd eat Howard for breakfast, Pau Gasol for lunch and Shaq for dinner. He'd chew up Chris Bosh and spit him in a pile with Greg Oden and Andrew Bogut. He looks like he can still "David Robinson" anyone you put between him and the basket.

Yes, but there is no way he could handle the season. I don't think he could really handle Yao's minutes.

Dwight, you aren't undersized. Not when the average Center is like 6'9" these days.

He looked good in the Pros vs. Joes game. He has stayed in shape but you could tell after a few games that the game has taken a toll on his body, and of course his age is a factor.

But overall Hakeem looks great, give him Dwight's young body and he'd be a killer in the post once again.

Exactly...that's the worst thing about age. You swell up easier and recover a lot slower.

Of course he looks good when he can help train someone for a few days then take a few days or even a week off.

You do have to admire his great conditioning at his age though. He looks great for someone who's almost 50.

if howard adapts this post moves to his game he will be arguably one of the best centers in this decade..
with his amazing (steroid pumped) strength and versatility he can be even more unstoppable

Howard will never be able to shoot, so he can never hope to achieve what Dream did offensively. Howard would be much better going to Shaq school where its using your massive strength and quickness to get your points. Of course Shaq is an arrogant prick who doesn't care for Howard.

If the NBA were like football and offense and defense played series possessions Hakeem could still play.

Awesome video. Thanks for posting Lil Pun.

Gotta love Howard, dude is hilarious. And man, Dream looks damn good in that video.

If Howard to take in some of those moves, with his strength and quickness.

I wonder why Dream isn't more involved with the Rockets?

Why couldn't he be part of the Organization in some capacity?

    well.

he built clutch city. he doesn't really need to do anything more.

does Jordan have to be more involved with the Bulls?
does Bird have to be more involved with the Celtics?
