Dude said he was ready to play when Tmac tried to play for us earlier in the year. Obviously he was not. That's why Grover is a trainer and not a basketball coach.
I'm not talking about trade speculation. I'm talking about the "woulda, coulda" BS we keep hearing from Tmac fans who think if Adelman had played him all would be right with the world.
Alright, I'd agree with that. But the same could apply for that as well. We don't know what would have happened if Adelman had played T-Mac, we could potentially have been much better right now, or been in the same situation, slumping as a team, but all that would have been directed at McGrady for disrupting the "chemistry." Either way, I agree, what's done is done, so no point in speculating about things that could have happened, since it didn't.
we'll have to wait and see about this one, i dont think we can be clear on the first time sinc ehe only played 7 mins a game....BUT, this can only help houston, so no sense in complaining. If the other teams feel like tmac can contribute right away they're more likely to trade for him and possibly give in to what morey wants.
I agree but I don't think the organization felt a few more wins (maybe) was worth taking playing time away from its future core of players.
There wasn't anything physical wrong with McGrady that kept him from playing. It was the fact that he was not in the Rockets plan anymore that's why he didn't play.
I have never seen Grover talk with media so much. Maybe he is very unhappy with the way Rockets handle his product.
He didn't play well and from what people who are in and around the organization are saying he didn't practice well either. THAT'S why he didn't play.
i thought he loooked pretty okay in his 7 minutes a game-- i don't think that's why he didn't play-- i think a lot of it has to do with his situation and the rockets situation-- although no one will really ever know except a select few
I'M A ROCKETS FAN FROM SF. TO BE HONEST, I'VE BEEN ONLY FOLLOWING SINCE YAO GOT TO HOUSTON. I WAS REALLY HAPPY WHEN THE TEAM TOOK THE LAKERS TO SEVEN LAST YEAR & WHEN THE TEAM GOT OFF TO A FAST START THIS SEASON. I'M NOT JYF OR JTF. I'M ALSO A BASKETBALL COACH. WITHOUT PREJUDICE I JUST THINK ITS PRETTY LAME HOW THE T-MAC SITUATION UNFOLDED. ALTHOUGH I DON'T AGREE WITH THE WAY T-MAC SHUT IT DOWN IN TERMS OF USING STEPHEN A INSTEAD OF THE ORGANIZATIONS MANAGEMENT, AS WE ALL KNOW SOME NIGHTS IT IS LIKE PLAYING 2 ON 5 BASKETBALL WITH ONLY BROOKS AND SCOLA BEING CONSISTANT ON OFFENSE. OBVIOUSLY IS HARD TO WIN WHEN THE SCORING COMES FROM MAINLY TWO SPOTS OUT OF FIVE FROM THE OFFENSE. EVERYDAY FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS I HAVE LOGGED ONLINE TO ROCKETS.COM AND HAVE READ THE ARTICLES AND DISCOVERED CLUTCH. SINCE GEOGRAPHICALLY THE WARRIORS ARE MY TEAM, I'VE NEVER HAD MUCH TO ROOT FOR EXCEPT THE "WE BELIVE" YEAR. FROM ALL THE POST I'VE READ FROM THIS FORUM OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, FROM THOSE WHO WANT T-MAC GONE OR THOUGHT THAT ARIZA WOULD SUFFICE. MY TAKE IS THAT ALL THESE FELLOW BASKETBALL MINDS HAVE OVER LOOKED IS THAT IT WOULD TAKE LONGER TO DEVOLOPE "ARIZA TO BECOME A SKILLED SHOOTING GAURD THEN IT WOULD TAKE AN INJURED SG TO REGAIN HIS FORM. AS ALL WHO FOLLOW THE NBA MIGHT RECALL D WADE WAS INJURED AND WAS TRAINED OR REHABED BY GLOVER AND DID YOU SEE THE HEAT LIMIT HIS MINS TO ONLY 6 OR 7 MIN OF THE FIRST QUARTER. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN LUDACRISS RIGHT. FROM MY OWN VIEW BEFORE IT GOT TO A POINT OF NO RETURN, I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE T-MAC PLAY AT LEAST 1 FULL GAME OR A COUPLE BEFORE ROCKET FANS DEEMED HIM WASHED UP. JUST SAYING AFTER TASTING THE 2ND ROUND LAST YEAR, FOR ALL ROCKET FANS AND NOT JUST ME WE DESERVED NOT TO TANK AND FOR THE ORGANIZATION TO HAVE GIVE A REAL FOLLOW UP EFFORT TO RETURN TO THE PLAYOFFS AGAIN WITH A SG WHO EVER THAT WAS. AND FOR ALL OF THE ROCKET FANS THAT ARE HIGH ON DM AND THE MONEYBALL OF BASKETBALL, NOTICE A TREND OF BANISHMENT OF FAN FAVS, LOOK AT THE OAKLANDS A's and the trend of the Rockets handling of its past stars. JUST LIKE IN FOOTBALL OR BASEBALL, WHEN A PLAYER IS INJURED AND RETURNS HE OR SHE IS NOT SUPPOSE TO LOSE THEIR SPOT UNLESS WHOEVER IS REPLACING HIM OR HER IS CLEARLY OUT PERFORMING THE INJURED PLAYER. AND EVERSINCE THAT 3 WEEK OF NOV. I KNOW IN MY HEART THAT THE SG & SF SPOT ON OUR OFFENSE HAVE NOT CLEARLY OUTPERFOMED T MAC NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES RA & DM TRIED TO FORCE FEED ARIZA TO TAKE SHOTS THAT HE IS CLEARLY NOT CAPABLE OF EVEN IF THEY GAVE HIM THE GREEN LIGHT BEFORE THE SEASON. ARIZA WILL NEVER BE ANYTING CLOSE TO A SCORING CHAMP. ALL THE HATERS OUT THERE ARE GONNA SAY T-MAC WASNT IN THE FUTURE ANYWAYS, BUT ATLEAST WE COULD HAVE USED HIM TO THE END OF THE YEAR AND LET THE CONTRACT EXPIRE. NOW BC OF THE MISHANDLING OF THE SITUATION WE HAVE TO SETTLE FOR TRADE TARGETS #S 5,6,7, OR 8 BC OTHER TEAMS LIKE THE MAVS HAVE ALREADY BE US TO THE PUNCH. CANT REALLY SAY WHOLE HEARTEDLY THAT T-MAC WAS A CHEMISTRY KILLER AND A BALL STOPPER. WHERE THAT CHEMISTRY NOW, THE SEASON WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EASIER IN JAN & FEB AND WE PLAYED HARD BUT STILL MANAGED TO LOSE GAMES THAT WE WERE NO SUPPOSE TO. ALL THOUGH I STILL SUPPORT THE TEAM MENTALLY I FEEL THE MANAGEMENT HAS HAD A DEFINITE DROP OFF IN TERMS OF FOLLOWING UP THE PLAYOFF RUN THE TEAM HAD LAST YEAR. FROM COLLECTING T-MACS INSURANCE $ ONLY PLAYING, 7 MIN (DID NOT HELP TRADE VALUE), OVERPLAYING ARIZA BEYOND REASONABLE GROWTH AND EXPECTATION, HAVING BATRIZA & CHUCK ALL ON THE FLOOR AT THE SAME TIME PLAYING MAJOR MINS 3 DEAD SPOTS WE CANT COUNT FOR POINTS IF THE TEAM REALLY NEEDS THEM. THE SITUATION IS SKETCH. HONESTLY DONT KNOW WHICH FA ARE GOING TO WANT TO SIGN WITH HOUSTON. LOVE THE GUTS AND HUSTLE OF THE TEAM, BUT THE SITUATION ALWAYS SEEMS LIKE AN UPHILL BATTLE. ALL THE OTHER TEAMS ARE BEEFING UP ON OFFENSE AND DEPT AND ALL WE MONEYBALL MOREY HAS MAGIC, HONESTLY THE SITUATION SEEMS BEYOND HIS CAPPABILITIES NOW.
