My mind was playing tricks on me, beause I misread the title of the thread as "McGrady could play for the Sixers". I thought it was some insider info on an Iggy trade.

    Sigh...

I have to let it go and come to grips with the fact that we're not getting Iggy/Martin.

I stopped reading after he mentioned that Noah was one of the best PF/C and Luol Deng has been steady his whole career

on the team bus or flight back from a loss during the 99-00 season pippen and grover were in the back talking together aloud so every one could hear about how "they would have never done that in chicago"

basically saying that rudy T and co didnt know how to coach the team

Not surprised to hear Brad Miller creeping into the conversation. Another Adelman favorite. Only thing is, Adelman doesn't have the personnel to make him effective. He excelled in the position he inherited from Divac, but look at the talent he had surrounding him. Good luck getting Ariza and Brooks to score on those backdoor cuts. Chuck Hayes is as good a passer as Miller, The Rockets just don't have guys who can finish.

As far as McGrady, The Rockets may really have screwed up here. Everyone knew they would be trying to trade him, but them exiling him from the team did nothing but hurt The Rockets.

    1) He wasn't hurting The Rockets by playing. They are still way out of the playoffs after exiling him.

    2) His trade value diminished by not playing. He didn't look like the old McGrady, but what can you expect after 5 games? Had The Rockets given him more time to take off the rust, he may have shown glimpses of the old TMAC and maybe gotten an extra asset or two for him. Had he gotten injured, he was still an expiring contract that The Rockets could have gotten pretty much the same offers for anyway OR simply let him expire and explore free agency.

Bottom line? Playing TMAC would have been a win/win situation regardless.

PR wise, the only way Adelman and Morey can really explain this is if they make the playoffs and say that McGrady was hurting chemistry. If they don't make the playoffs, they will go down as having told a former top 10 player you are paying $23 million, to go home during a crucial season without Yao Ming.

There is another aspect that hasn't been explored. I wouldn't put it passed McGrady to play down on the court just to force a trade or to get back at the organization, particularly after the whole "coming back on Nov 18 deadline crap" and then Adelman held him out. This is the same guy who has admitted to not giving it his all on the court.

He could very well goto Chicago and tear it up. I'm not a huge TMAC guy, though I did think 2-3 years ago he was playing at an MVP level for The Rockets. I am just stating a theory and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it came to realization.

The rockets should thank Grover. What he said is to increase Tmac's value.

Unless Rockets call the bluff and play him another 8 minutes. That would be kind of funny though.

You obviously don't know much about basketball!!!!

Chuck can pass. Yes he can. Can he SHOOT? Not to save the life of someone he loves. You can't cut too good when the man guarding your post on the wing or elbow has already sagged 10 feet off of CHuck and clogged up the passing lanes and the middle. No reason to cut because Chuck's man is standing right where you want to go and the floor is not properly spaced. Defenders will give CHUNK the 18 foot jump shot all day and twice on Sunday with no hesitation.

With a person like a Brad Miller standing where Chuck would be in the offense, the defender now must make a Choice....Do I let this guy shoot 18 foot uncontested jumpers all day and sag into the paint or do I come out and play in his face. If he chooses the latter, which I can promise has never happened with Chuck on the floor, the now vacated lane has room for people to cut to the basket. The people you say won't cut now can and probably will cut because the lane is open. Shooters make all the difference in whether there are passing lanes or not by spacing the floor. Why didn't tracy just train another 2 months before opening his mouth to the Rox organization? What an idiot...he's patient enought to train again for a trade, but couldn't do it for houston. "Vaya con Dios, Brah"

Every post is of useless speculation. Nobody knows what could, or what is going to happen.
