I'd gladly take on Szczerbiak's big contract in return for our expiring contracts, as part of a three way deal with Minnesota and Indiana. Imagine pairing one of the best shooters in the league with Yao and Tmac.

he cant play D...he clashed with KG because he thought he was better than him.

Breaking News: Rockets lose to Hornets.

Me to Wally: We have excellent home in River Oaks, Sugarland ,or how bout 3rd Ward.

I would rather get Odom than Artest.

I know he's not shooting that well at the Lakers, but I'll bet Kobe's big ego has a lot to do with it.

Odom was great with the Heat and at the Olympics.

Could Artest do for the Rockets what Sheed did for the Pistons?

I don't know, but right now we need to throw some fire into the Rockets.

WE dont have a point guard or power forward.

They needed a small push. We need an uppercut from Mike Tyson

We NEED Artest on this Team

Its obvious that we need a legit 3rd scorer and also someone who can rebound inside.

Artest fits both those needs. I say give anybody outside Yao and T-mac to get him. He is what the Rockets need in order to be considered elite.

Wesley,Moochie,Head,1st Rounder,Swift... 3out of those 5 combinations to get him Just DO IT

uhm you do realize that there is a reason why artest is being traded from indiana right? he wanted a bigger role in the offense. So being the 2nd option in Indiana wasnt good enough for him? How do you think he would be here when he would be the THIRD option? I would love to have a player with artest's capabilities on this team, but I dont think Artest is going to change his way of thinking. I would believe Swift becoming a consistent 20/10 player before I would believe artest willing to be a third option on a team

You're right. If there's any chance of getting him we should take it immediately.

Assume we can get Ron Artest.
Assume Yao will come back strong and stay health.
    Assume Tmac can stay health.
Assume Swift can play consistently like how he did tonight.
Assume Sura will fully rehab and come back strong.

    Sura
    Tmac
    Artest
    Swift
    Yao

Now I am going to bed. As soon as I fall asleep, this will come true (in my dream). :)

So Indiana trades Artest and a solid player in Croshere for Wesley and two players you could make a case shouldn't even be playing in the NBA?

Unless there's about 7-8 first round draft picks involved for Indiana there's absolutely no way Walsh/Bird don't laugh at this.

Looks like the Lakers are gonna get Artest -

Indiana is nearing a three-team trade that would send swingman Ron Artest to the Los Angeles Lakers, a league source has told ProBasketballNews.com. Meanwhile, Lakers forward Devean George would end up in Indiana. The third team involved in the proposed trade is the Toronto Raptors, according to the source. The Raptors would send Jalen Rose to Los Angeles -- and in return receive Pacers forward Austin Croshere and at least one player from the Lakers. The source added that George and an undetermined player from the Raptors -- or perhaps a draft pick -- would be to dealt to the Pacers.

So the Lakers get Rose AND Artest for George and a pick? Pacers get George and Raptors get a pick or some unnamed player?

That source doesn't look very reliable, though.

But if it is true, that Lakers were able to get Artest while keeping Odom, man that trade is someting Jerry West could be proud of. :)

No kidding, I'll believe it when I see it.

That trade "info" sounds like the Lakers are giving up nothing for Artest, I don't see how they would pull that off.

while this is a link i dont know how substantial this could be since espn and fox sports havent reported this yet.

for some reason i cant imagine larry bird ok'ing a trade that would be make the lakers significantly better.

poor man's version? hmmm... that trio is pretty darn scary. odom has always been one of my favorite players that can do pretty much anything on the court. can handle the rock as well as any pg, can hit the outside j, can rebound, can distribute the ball, can post up... there's not much to not like about the guy. he just disappears every so often. he'd be the x-factor in the trio.

of course it would be highly entertaining hearing bickering between kobe and artest. that would be so bad arse.
