The Disembodied Voice....although, he's much more "embodied" now.

So will Kiper get hired by a NFL team now? I don't know if Fox could really use him if they don't have the rights to draft day coverage (yes I realize Kiper can be used for other things but I think he earns his paycheck by the 2 days of teh draft).

ESPN should fire Chris Berman. What an assclown. I can't watch NFL Countdown because of that freaking buttwarbler.

Kiper is an asshat. He's got a freaking research team to do all the work for him, and he's still not all that accurate in evaluating talent (... but he is good for mock drafts). After four years, I still use his stuff to help me with my college football card sets, but I now rely on better draft sites, like Great Blue North, Huddle Report, NFL Draft Countdown, and Ourlads.

"David Carr has a hitch in his throw. It's a mistake to pretend he should be the #1 draft pick, and it's a mistake to pretend he will be a good QB in this league." -- Mel Kiper, Jr. (paraphrased by MadMax :) )

Brilliant! Dream Job 18....you win,you get to be the ESPN Draft Expert! Craptastic!

Kiper is ESSENTIAL to the NFL Draft. Especially for "day 2" of the draft. I have a hunch ESPN will work this out with Kiper before the draft.

I liked him when he was Disembodied Voice. It still looks odd to see that voice come out of his mouth.

Max's show is VERY average. It is a total rip off of Around the Horn. The show is ok, but I liked it better when he was on Horn. All IMAX does is give Max more time to voice his opinion. I think he was better in short spurts on Around the Horn.

    Per this article:

    *snicker*

In Kiper's defense, he DID like Carr over Harrington (but not by much). Still an asshat, though.

don't bother me with facts, Hammer! :)

Actually, the words by Kiper and Salisbury (i think) on draft day were far stronger than those he put in print. Remember how long they spent talking about the hitch in his throw that weekend?

    I beg to differ.

Throughout his tenure as a sportswriter, Holley has constantly threatened to quit working at the Globe for a variety of reasons, and instead write books.

He's a baby who whines and cries unless he gets his ways, then takes his ball and goes home when he doesn't get what he wants. But then he'll suck up and return when he realizes he wants to write a sports column again.

And don't get me started on "I, Max." Biggest rip-off ever. Woody Paige was supposed to be the guy they stole from "ATH", but at the last second the Disembodied Voice (Bill Wolff) chose to go with Holley and stabbed Paige in the back.

    Sickening.

But I will say this much, Kellerman is excellent and needs a better vehicle to showcase his skills.

Kiper's dream has always been to be an NFL GM... I think he's burned too many bridges by dissing various draft picks over the years to be taken seriously by any NFL team though.

I actually agree with this. Berman WAS the franchise in the 80s and early 90s. Now he's a shell of his former self and has become a joke/clown.

Sad to say his time has come and gone.

Time for Bob Ley to step up and take more of a workload, like he did in the past.

I think all analysts tend to act like that. Most talk much less boldly in print than on TV because it has a far better chance of coming back to bite them.
