Kurkjian, Stark, Wilbon, Kornheiser, Stat Boy are good. Scoop Jackson is a nut and Broussard are nuts. Stephen A. is a clown. Reynolds was very good. Kruk is a ****** who should go back to Fox.
Lyons bugs the hell out of me too, just less so than everybody else they have. The Fox broadcast Saturday was one of the worst I've seen - from the usual inanity, to the Meatloaf interview, to McCarver (former big league catcher) completely forgetting what a front door breaking ball is during his diatribe on the Backe-Nady AB. All that was missing was Scooter The Gay Baseball telling me that "a curveball...is a ball that curves!"
Agree completely - it must have been really really bad because I felt that Reynolds was one of the best baseball analysts they had on their show. I wonder if we will ever know the full story of this one. I am guessing sexual harassment is involved in this.
THis is ridiculous..>He's the only guy I can stand to listen too...It's got to be something like he was banging the bosses daughter or stalking someone, you know, something not related to baseball...
I thought the Baseball Tonight crew with Ravich, Reynolds, and Gammons was the second best sports show on TV (a close second to Inside the NBA). I thought Orel Hershiser was a nice addition both on BBTN and to the game broadcasts. Hell, even Kruk was starting to grow on me a little bit. Now Gammons is in the hospital and Reynolds has been fired. Another great show has fallen.
This just IN: ESPN has brought in Steve Lyons. In an unrelated story, CF.net fan MadMax has jumped from one of Dolly Parton's boobs. More at 5pm.
I don't like the overweight guy, I loved Harold and Steve Phillips. Baseball tonight is a great show, they need to make one for basketball.
Harold was my favorite guy on ESPN. I think he knew his sport better than anybody else on ESPN. I don't get the firing. But I'd like to see Harold go get a coaching gig some where. ESPN is going down hill thats no secret unfourtunely there is no alternative so they can do as they please. . . .
eh.. on Steve Phillips. As for other shows, they have a show for the NBA (NBA Fastbreak?) but its filled with the same garbage type personalities that lay waste to the rest of ESPN.
You don't know what you have until it's gone...Wilbon/Kornheiser were always great, but I never realized how good they were until LeBatard and some other dude filled in for them for the entire week. Just godawful. As for Harold Reynolds, there definitely has to be something going on behind the scenes...maybe a Aldridge-esque rivalry was brewing behind the scenes? Regardless, Harold was the one thing after Gammons' aneurysm that kept me watching BBTN...
