given the statements from ESPN, it probably had nothing to do with his performance on-air. there's something else there.
Steve Phillips is a moron and I'll never ever forget or forgive those stupid mock GM press conference things he did for SC. Baseball tonight is falling apart man. I want Reynolds analyzing the on the field stuff and I want Gammons giving me my behind the scenes news and I want Miller and Morgan calling my games. If they fire Joe Morgan or Jon Miller, I am finally through with ESPN.
that's the problem. i can stop watching baseball tonight, no problem. i already have. but i won't stop watching the televised games on ESPN.
No matter who they hire, or fire, their broadcast crew cannot possibly be worse than the McCarver-Buck b.s. we were subjected to on Saturday. McCarver is a freaking joke. Baseball on Fox is a freaking joke. Josh Lewin? Steve Lyons is about the best they have, that should tell you something.
unreal ... don't really know what ESPN is thinking ... Do ESPN personalities such as Stephen A. Smith really appeal to anyone? The decline of ESPN in recent yearas is a sad sad thing
I've got to think that the reason for his firing and the wording of the statement released points to that it was NOT on air performance. I think he did something very wrong, either professionally or personally that they are not discussing.
true. i miss baseball on NBC. mccarver is terrible. lyons just gets on my nerves. comes off uber-dorky.
Rich Eisen not re-signed. Max Kellerman not given a contract extension David Aldridge not re-signed Screamin' A Smith replacing Aldridge. Harold Reynolds fired. ESPN has about 3 people left worth listening to. Tony Kornheiser, Mike Wilbon, and Peter Gammons, who may or may not return to BBTN. F ESPN.
