I was absolutely shocked one "expert" picked up. Floored. I'll be happy if the Rockets take it to 6 games. I'll be VERY happy if they take it to 7. I will get a Von Hawk and donate $500 to the DMF if the Rockets win the series.
You guys should really listen to Artest: This is not the end, you should not be satifsfied with just winning a first round series. We need positivity and support the Rockets, not just say we're happy with a win This is not our goal !!@@!!! Remember the interview with Steven A Smith ?? The aim is a championship and nothing short of it, "what more do you want?"
I'm sick of people saying we can't do it. Keep your dang mouth shut if you feel that way. Nobody wants to hear it. Go post on the Lakers bord, suckers!
I think Sheridan is just a bit biased, he also picked us to win in 6 against Portland if memory serves. Of course, a 2 for 2 record on that would be great. So much for Hollinger being a Rockets homer though, guess his awe about Morey and his team doesn't translate in the playoffs. Second time he's picked us to lose in 6.
This would be such a tone-setter. We did it against an inexperienced Portland team who wasn't quite ready for the playoffs. Anything is possible (but not probable ), but this would be so HUGE if we could steal game one in LA. It will start and end with rock solid lock down defense. Defense will bring the most stratospheric teams down to earth. It's why the cliche exists, "defense wins championships."
Speaking of the Lakers board, this is disgusting ... looking at the same "experts' picks at ESPN", they took it as total disrespect that one guy picked the Rockets to will, and they hoped it would be bulletin board material for the team. If that qualifies as bulletin board material for LA, then what does 9/10 experts picking Houston to lose count as for our team? This overconfidence and arrogance coming from LA fans is staggering and nauseating. Second post in a row about this, but if we come out all-business, do what we need to, and play strong defense, anything can happen. The town of LA needs a nice kick in their arrogant bleached teeth. Do it Rockets.
The team needs to play perfect or the star need to be aligned for us to win the series. But I'll just kick back and enjoy this one. Who knows, miracle does happen if they work hard enough and believe in themselves.
I thought Tim Legler was going to pick us since he's the biggest Laker hater I've ever seen in my life. I believe before the playoffs started he said the Lakers don't have enough to win the title even with a healthy Bynum. Then again, He's also a Yao hater. If any of you remember when Yao was dominating in the 06-07 season before the injury. Everybody was picking Yao that he was the MVP in the 1st month of the season. I remember Legler picking Carlos Boozer.
Dude it will be Rockets in 6. History will repeat itself again. Rockets will take the first game in LA. LA will be overconfident and rusty in the first game.
Chris Sheridan has been on the money with his picks: Cavs in 4(correct) Celtics in 7(maybe) Magic in 6(correct) Heat in 7(maybe) Lakers in 5(correct) Nuggets in 5(correct) Mavericks in 7(2 games off) Rockets in 7(1 game off) now he is picking the rockets in 7 hope this guy is money I actually think it will go like this game 1:W game 2:L game 3:W game 4:W game 5:L game 6:W (if we lose this its going to be real hard to win game 7)
if we couldn't beat the Mavs on their home court, how can we beat the Lakers in a pivotal game 7? even if we miraculously got to 7 games, i think the Lakers would blow us out by 40 points ala 2005 mavs.
ESPN to me has pretty much 0 credibility when it comes to "analyzing" basketball. When one of your so-called experts is Jalen Rose, there's no way I can take anything you say seriously.
I assumed mostly everyone would be picking the Lakers in 4 or 5. The fact that we have stunk up the joint everytime we played them doesn't help the perception that we have no chance. I think we are not the same team that got smashed in LA earlier this year and this series could be a lot closer than any expert might think.
