Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Elie was an assistant coach with Golden State for the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. He also was an assistant with the Spurs for the 2003-04 season. He worked for FOX Sports Net last season as the host of the Houston Rockets' pregame and postgame shows. Elie averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 732 regular-season games during an 11-year NBA career with Golden State, Philadelphia, Portland, Houston, San Antonio and Phoenix. You know I did hear about that, but looks like he is indeed going to Mavs. I would have liked to see what he could have done as an assistant with the rockets; I def don't like him going to the MAVS of all teams.
Even though I don't like his team, good for him. AJ is an excellent coach and maybe Mario can learn enough from him to get his own opportunity.
