They've been open to trading him all offseason, its been a pretty well publicized fact.

One thing you learn about the Raiders quickly is they are laughably bad at keeping their intentions a secret despite being one of the most media-wary teams in all of sports.

This is going to be a fun season coming up. I can't wait to see how the Redskins and Eagles play this upcoming season. I think it is a shoe-in that Dallas wins the division. Rarely do teams make so many substantial changes and put it all together the same season. I'll be shocked if either the Eagles or Redskins make the playoffs given all the changes.

Kind of like playing Go Fish with my senile grand father.

I can always tell when that asshat is lying to me.

now i'm expecting the redskins to hold mcnabb for 2-3 years...draft a QB in the 3rd rnd this year and groom him over time a la Aaron Rodgers

McNabb's deal is up after this season.

He will likely demand a 4 year deal. (he'd be 38 when it's done)

If you're the Redskins, you better lock him up now, because if he doesn't like what he sees with the future of this team... you can probably bet he's going to leave for a contender and make a nice little chunk of change as a UFA this offseason.

The Redskins would be smart to not draft a QB this year, that might instantly send McNabb into pout-mode and make him harder to resign.

If they let him walk, the Redskins would be the laughing stock of the NFL...

I really hope this means Jimmy Clausen falls to the Bills.

I'd love to see how "Pro-ready" he is in Buffalo.

I don't follow college football as much as you guys (and follow even less of ND football) but how good is this guy? I think one of the ESPN talking heads compared him to John Elway? I know they always want to make a comparison to great players but how ready IS this guy?

The consensus on Clausen is that he'll either be Phillip Rivers or Ryan Leaf... a confident douchebag who can handle the NFL pressure or an immature douchebag who can't.

So either way, he's a douchebag. Hahahaha

    Subtle? SUBTLE?

If you call that subtle, I'd hate to see your idea of blatantly obvious!

For as much as you hear the fan complain about McNabb, the reaction has been pretty mixed so far. Listening in on Eagles Live a lot of fans are predicting mediocrity for the next several seasons, some are saying McNabb deserved better, a poll on the website is showing most fans are in "prove it" mode without McNabb, etc. Surprising...

I like Karl KOlb and I think he might win <del>the hizeman!</del> the Super Bowl! I also think the Texans should have took KArl Kold in the NFL draft.

    Awesome move..

In one fell swoop, both the skins and iggles have been even more weakened.

Great news for the Silver n Blue!

    My 2 cents:

Great pickup for the Skins. McNabb is a leader and proven winner, something they've been missing at QB for a long time. He's already familiar with the west coast offense so the transition should be smooth. If they can shore up the OL (Okung?), they'll have a chance to make some noise, adding a WR should be their next priority after OL. Shanahan, McNabb, Parker, Haynesworth, Orakpo...the Skins have made some HUGE additions the past 2 years.

As for the Eagles, this is very similar to the GB/Favre situation a couple years back. If Kolb can take over like Aaron Rodgers did, they'll be perfectly fine. He definitely has the weapons around him to succeed. The Eagles also have quite a number of draft picks which gives them the option of moving up should they choose to.

I don't think Shannahan sees McNabb as his long term answer, just a one year rental. I think he'll draft a hand-picked future franchise QB to learn under Donovan for a year and then it's off to the Vikings after Favre retires for the gajillionth time.

Clausen has an NFL arm and he's a good decision maker, but I think he wilts under pressure and ultimately a lot of NFL scouts/GMs have serious qualms about his maturity level.

Yeah he's always doing that. He knows he'd rather a pro bowl douchebag at quarterback than the reincarnation of Jaba the Hut though. So it's all good.
