When you say things like that, it's a short cut to thinking.

Why didn't the Rox send Orlando Taylor instead of Cato. Cato is more important to the team than Taylor. He helps Yao out more than anyone. I don't really like Taylor's game.

i think tmac wants to come to houston mainly, because he knows yao doesent care for attention. Tmac knows he could be the main star on this team, and win win and win.

Yea i hope they get someone better than Taylor. But who else is out there. I am not sure. Rasheed Wallace would be great. But...that's hard to get.

Wallace is expensive, something will happen though, no doubt.

Is Marcus Campy a free agent?? If we can sign him with the other Exception $$...let's do it. He's a hella lot better than Cato!

wasn't he one of JVG's boys on the knicks? How come we get oakley, MJ, and spoon, but we can't get one of the decent players left from that team.

yeah he is, I was just thinking, maybe jvg might pine for him this summer...maybe an S&T for Mo T with the exception or something then denver can go find some other player with their huge capspace while we can run with a line of:

    fisher
    jj
    tmac
    camby
    yao

    boki off the bench

that'd be awesome, and it's...actually not...incredibley out of reach.

There is no capspace if T-Mac walks, unless Hill opts out as well.

Are Orlando willing to take that chance? If Hill plays around 60 very poor games, he will not opt out. Only way he'll opt out is if he doesn't want to play in his condition anymore. However, if he can put up a decent number of games and decent numbers, I can't see him opting out.

Basically, whatever Orlando gets should be just betetr than getting nothing. For example, trading T-Mac for Taylor and Weatherspoon will hurt them mroe than letting T-Mac walk.

However, Francis and TE for T-Mac is already a great deal for them. Assuming they have capspace (50-50 chance), would they really be able to sign someone better than Francis? ESPECIALLY after both Shaq and T-Mac left them with nothing?

The other players involved are just re-shaping the roster while maintaining balance. Basically:

Houston: Well, we'll need at least a backup PG.
Orlando: Here's Lue. But now we need a SG.
Houston: Take Mobley. But Mobley's much better than Lue.
Orlando: But T-Mac is much better than Francis. So I think maybe you should give me a bit more.
Houston: Okay, how about we swap Cato for Gaines, Declerq and Howard, giving us flexibility and depth, and giving you a starting C?
Orlando: Sounds good. A bit unfair consideringhow much better McGrady is than Francis. But then again, this deal puts us in a better position than if he wlaked and we tried to rebuild.

Maybe they are just planning on announcing the trade during the draft to help boost ratings for future drafts. This is just my own little conspiracy theory.

I also know that it's been reported that the trade won't be announced until after the draft. But, who's articles am I supposed to believe??

I don't know who to believe anymore, I know about as much as these "insiders" do.

Houston is in danger of blowing up thanks to Francis' pout giving Orlando cold feet. McGrady's comments should give other teams cold feet and put us back in the driver's seat. I think it's time to say "Sign the papers now or we pull out and move Francis elsewhere." Turn up the heat. Get it done.

Anyway, it makes no sense for Orlando to wait until after the draft to decide unless they're trying to blackmail us. They have the #1 pick. Their only decision is whom to take, and that will depend on who they get for McGrady. If they get a starter at 1, 2, and 5, their choice is simple -- take Okafor and start him at 4.

As for why McGrady will only play with Yao, maybe he saw how well the Kobe-Shaq thing worked out against Detroit. The league's leading scorer would probably love to play alongside the league's best passing big man.

Actually, if they get a starter 1, 2, and 5, I see them picking Howard, especially if the 5 is Cato. Cato and Okafor are too much of a offensive liability to play at the same time, while Howard could develop nicely with Cato doing the dirty work.
