While I enjoy watching Amare, I believe Yao has a much better grasp of basketball skills. He only needs to be less fearful. Oh, yeah, also less prone to falling ;). Plus, Yao is a big man with skills.

Not sure if you realized this, but you forgot the "non-" prefix in front of "Rox". Just wasn't sure if you caught that.

At the moment this is the case, but as their careers wear on, and Amare's athleticism comes back down to human levels Yao will be the better player because he has the superior skills. In five or six years Amare will be a poor man's Chris Webber without the passing. Yao will continue to improve because he has no quickness to lose. So they'll rewrite the the article then and put Yao back on top.

    This is stupidest thing ever.

Amare would blow if he didnt have Nash / Marbs. He has been stuck with 2 of the top 5 pgs in the game, obviously he is going to be a stud.

The difference is Yao is stuck with PGs that dont really pass (Francis/Sura). They can spot up Yao like Nash or Marbs can

amed, you obviously don't realize that Yao made the most sense of all the loterry picks during the 2002 draft.

    Jay Williams?
We already had a backcourt with Francis and Mobley. He would've been redundant

    Jeffries, Gooden, Skita, Wilcox, Amare?
We had a huge logjam at PF with Thomas, Taylor, and Griffin. Moreover, Eddie was supposed to be our PF of the future

We needed a SF or a C the most. Considering the fact that the 2002 draft lacked any no-brainer "bonafide" instant superstar (like Alcindor, Magic, or Shaq) we naturally picked the most talented player that would fit our needs.

what is your definition of flop? Yao was #1 effeciency rating per 48minutes in playoffs, higher than Amare. 22 points on 65% shooting with 7 rebs, 3 blks in 31 minutes is flopping? How about Shaq flopped against every team in playoffs, Amare flopped against Memphis, Dirk flopped against Rockets, TD flopped against Detroit?

Take Nash away from Amare, and he'll turn into Richard Jefferson.
