I agree that that we will end up doing some sort of 3 way deal that includes Tracy, but I don’t know what Morey has going on in his head. I do feel 100% sure he is trying to get an early pick to pick up a player that will satisfy a trade deal. We will not have a rookie on this team at the start of season.

    Wtf is wrong with that???

Curry could be the scoring combo guard we could've used in the playoffs when our offense was stalling. That's a top 10 pick for a 31st selection. What a deal is what you should be asking.

Not all. Look at last years draft:

    Lottery Picks:
    Derrick Rose - 1st pick
O.J. Mayo - 3rd pick (I dont count Beasley because he was benched for his defense)
    Russel Westbrook - 4th pick
    Eric Gordon - 7th pick
    Brook Lopez - 10th pick
    Jason Thompson -12th pick

    Outside Lottery:
    Courtney Lee - 22nd pick
    Mario Chalmers - 34th pick

Then again, this draft class was much better than this years.. But I'm sure Landy is worth a lottery pick. The Rockets should aim to get Jordan Hill. But he should be gone after the top 5. Which of those teams that have lottery picks other than Charlotte want/need Carl Landry?

His jumpshot is not luck. He's arguably our best 6th man off the bench, I would say he's pretty valuable.

I might see the Bucks or the Pacers being enticed about Carl Landry. Landry played at Purdue (right?) and he's from Milwaukee.

The reason I mention this at all is because, as someone here pointed out, Landry must consent to any trade before September.

Unless the deal is done and Morey waits til September to pull the trigger, but that's risking a lot.

Also in ESPN, I think (but I'm too lazy to go look so please trust me), Larry Bird was talking about his team's needs. He mentioned needing "bigs", a PG, and a wing. OK, so that's almost the whole team, but he mentioned "bigs" first, anyway.

Jordan hill's stock is falling rapidly so he is falling out of the top five picks NY said they'd take him if he fell to #8

I doubt McGrady gets moved on draft night unless it is too good to pass up. It is going to be interesting to see what happens. All rumors or move that are made public about the Rockets never happen. Last year, it was something along the lines of Luther Head and the pick to Washington for the 18th selection, which we were then supposedly going to take Courtney Lee. Wonder what is going to happen this year?!

If there going into the top 15 I think Earl Clark could be a good pick

    His 6' 8.5" without shoes
    6' 10.25" with shoes
    7' 2.5" wingspan

His compared to Marvin Williams/Boris Diaw, If were getting ride of Landry, Clark could be a good spark of the bench. His weakness is he disappears in big games, with the talent the Rockets have all he has to do is bring energy to the game. But I'm still a huge Landry fan :( , there has to be another way to get a top 15 pick without giving up are young talent

My concern is that we are already small in the backcourt (with our PGs), I'd love Curry, but I'd rather have a bigger 2 guard, to:
    1) Get the ball easily into Yao in the post
    2) Just add size to our team, which I think this team desperately needs.

Carl's worth a 10-15 lotto pick easily. He has some potential left and he's already very productive. If Portland can get the #7 pick with Sebastian freakin Telfair, I think we can get something remotely similar.

The teams that could use him the most? #10, 11, and 12: bucks, nets, and bobcats. Who knows if we could get someone better than Landry at those spots?

The only way you can is offering (since we are a good team) 2 future first rounders.

I'd rather give up Landry, I love Landry, but thus far Morey hasn't let us down I trust he knows talent pretty well.

At 1.75 inches, Earl Clark leads the draft class in shoe height, no?

You know he does have some value other than hustle and his energy. He suprised me with his shooting range. If i remember correctly Darly Morey said he worked on his offensive game all throughout the summer and that he will focus on working on his defense this summer. I also recall someone saying Landry is shooting the 3 in practice but it still needs alot of work. You never know Landry could become a poor man's Troy Murphy for another team.

He's definitely valuable indeed. He's young and proven, those teams with lottery picks would love to have him. Also he's got tremendous potential. He might even become a Paul Millsap type of player. Look at Millsap this year, when he was given the starting role. Definitely worth a top 10 lottery pick.

The beauty of it is that we can trade Landry and still use Brooks as more trade bait along with Tracy to get another big, maybe better big.

I'd say he more of a Shawn Marion type player. We could use someone like him to be able to create his own shot and shots for others. He was a guard in hs before he hit his 6" growth spurt. He could be a gem in the rough.

Who said it was?? I said MOST of what he does is not skill-based, as in put backs, dunks, hustle plays, etc. His jumpshot is a skill, but one of the few fundamentally based skills he does have. Yes he's valuable as a back up/6th man, but is THAT valuable where you can't trade him or not even consider it to fill a position we may need? I dont think so, not when Scola's in front of him and doesn't always allow Landry to get minutes, and not when Dorsey is improving and is basically his double except for lack of a J, which he seems to be working on and improving this summer...

It's weird. I think just about everyone was pissed that "all" we got for our 8th pick in a weak draft was Battier. And now here's a rumor where we're on the other side with our role player trying to get lottery, and people are against it?

I LOVE Landry. But if there is a good prospect Morey's targeting, then I would not let a player like Landry get in the way of getting that guy. For a non-Rubio pick, I'd consider only Scola and Yao untouchable. And I would trade Scola in a package for #2 or Rubio.
