I agree he could average that much as well and you probably don't want him to. It annoys me when people say he can be a Paul Millsap type player. HE IS A PAUL MILSAP type player. If he was put into the same position he would have done the same things as Millsap. When Landry gets solid consistent minutes he produces. Like I said the reason some people don't think he has a low post game is because we never use him like that. I think we should try it more often and see what kind of opportunities he can create. I have seen some good things from him in the low post, especially in the LA series where he absolutely owned Odom in one of the games in the low and high post nevertheless and had like 20 points in the first half. You don't do that unless you are a talented skilled player. Again I am not saying he is going to be an all star just that he is easily starter material for 2/3 of NBA teams coming off the bench for our team which I love. There are times where I am very disappointed in the minutes he doesn't get especially when he is aggressive and having one of those monster games and then hardly plays in the second half. Anyways, I feel that some of this has spilled over from last year for some of you guys who were saying, "We don't need Landry, let him walk". Role players/bench guys like him don't come around that often especially at the PF position for the past 10 years for us so let's be grateful we have him.

I think going from a shaky J that you rarely take, to an automatic one that I feel comfy with you taking it 24/7 is a big difference. It doesn't happen that often in the course of a summer.

If we're trading Landry, we'd better get a big in return.

Landry is a 4 and Dorsey's a 5. This is how is see it, one of them has a very effecient offensive game and the other is strictly a defensive player who will probably never have an offensive game. I don't agree with your expectations of Dorsey potentially having the same offensive game with a lesser J than Landry. Dorsey is a 10 to 15 minute stop gap at the 5 position on the defensive end of the court at best.

i dont remember Landry's J being that shaky his first year or being automatic this year...i think the gap was a closer than that....as in he rushed it and hesitated a lot his first year and now he doesn't. His form didn't change so it's mostly a matter of getting in the gym and shooting it over and over from different areas and working on catching and shooting. Most players do that every offseason anyway. I dont see it being a bigt stretch when you're already able to shoot. It's mostly mental with him, which is why he reverted back to his old FT shooting in the playoffs and shot like 50%, he was probably nervous.

efficiency? efficiency just means you make more than you miss, so Dorsey's offensive game is also very efficient. That's not saying much about how offensively talented the player is. A lot of guys are efficient offensively and still have limited offense.

What would keep Dorsey from being a 5 AND a 4? At 6'7 i can't imagine he's going to be a full time center.

Somebody explain to me how Landry gets rebounding position and uses fakes and pivots and both hands to finish at the rim in traffic without a low post game.

Sure, lets bring in Etan Thomas.

Shane Battier and Etan Thomas together on the court at the same time...

Their brain power combined could probably explode Delonte West's head ala Scanners.

i'd say Millsap will be an all-star one day the way he's going..

It would be a big and stupid mistake if we trade Landry for a draft pick somewhere around 15. The only person in this draft worth losing Landry over right now is Blake Griffin and I don't see it happening.

So having skills learned in middle school is considered having a low post game now? I've seen chuck grab tons of rebounds, fake and pivot as well, that's not going to define anyone's lost post game. He has no moves, not one. You can only fake and turn and wiggle around so much before the defense just makes you look like someone just faking and wiggling around, which is why Landry sometimes gets stuck faking and faking because the defense just stays on their feet.

that's really saying a lot, you don't think a #2,3,4, or 5 pick is worth trading Landry for??

Thank you, thank you, thank you...if only you could copy and paste this message into every thread. I appreciate someone who understands that basketball is about making the team better not just individual scoring efficiency. The most annoying new trend in basketball discussions is throwing out a fg% and saying player X is more efficient than player Y and it is used in such a way to imply that this is evidence that player X is better than player Y. Actually, player X just shoots a better fg% which does not say anything about how "efficient" they are at helping their team in other areas - steals, blocks, rebounds, assists etc...

LOL OMGZ TEH LANDRY IZ MO EFFICIENTS THAN KOBE AND LEBRON!!!

NO! not for an unknown and unproven rookie in a weak draft when we have a stud PF coming off the bench that is a proven NBA player. He's plays great and does it consistently unlike AB. I would rather trade AB than Landry. If we were to trade Landry for a draft pick I want another BIG in return and no big guy in this draft is worth losing Landry over other than Griffin.

This is a really weak draft. The only guys I'm sold on in the draft are Griffin & Harden. Rubio & Thabeet have enough potential that I might do it as well (obviously the team that drafts them isn't giving them up for Landry though). If this was a rebuilding team it would make more sense to take a chance on a pick, but this is a team that should be in win now mode.
