None of this is really relevant to my point that the Knicks had to take their chances with the superfriends by any means necessary - sure, if they had the benefit of perfect foresight and a magic crystal, they would be better off ... but so would anybody.

Further, if you guys think Walsh could have seriously sat back and decided to sit out the Superfriends free agent sweepstakes last year - something that the Knicks, Dolan, and the media had been fully expecting them to do for the last 2 years, and kept his job, you seriously don't understand the situation up here. They had a few years of misery to land free agents. They landed one big one and missed another. Them's the breaks.

Uh, NY didn't assume either. They took a shot, they missed. They moved to plan B (Stoudemire, felton etc). Same as the Rockets. (Brad Miller! woohoo.)

its pointless to LOL all day about ripping someone off unless you put the pick to good use. Lets hope Morey uses the pick wisely instead of the dum dums he has picked up the last few years

    No, no no..

the knicks are in a bad spot b/c of the knicks.

Implementing the "two-year-tank-the-seasons" plan was stupid at best.

Shouldn't you be telling us how T-Mac will be the T-Mac of old
and the rockets will regret it for years to come??

"dum-dums" like Carl Landry or Aaron Brooks or Chase Budinger.

HAHAHAHAH, I can't do nothing but laugh at walsh, he said "we were going to do this trade to get two superstars and we got Amare and Felton" Yeah am sure that worked.

Sat close to Walsh when I was in NY for the Rockets/Knicks game in March... I thanked him for allowing Morey to control his draft the next few years as well as for his first round pick in Hill. He told me wait until the summer, that's what they were looking toward. :)

Glad you got want you wanted sir...

What? Through 2007 to 2009 we've had 9 picks. Only 2 were late 1st rounders (25th and 26th). Yet we've gotten guys who already contibute in the NBA like Brooks, Landry, Budinger, Nicolas Batum, and Donte Greene along with top International guys like Brad Newly, Sergio Llul. The highest pick that Morey's had is this years mid 1st round pick (14th, Patterson).

I don't see Chris Bosh in a Rockets uniform, so let's cool the crowing about the Knicks striking out in their summer FA ambitions. If they'd succeeded, we wouldn't be feeling so smug about that pick.

Nice... How nice would it be if we get our deal to get Melo includes Jeffries, Hill and NY's picks (without giving up much else, i.e. Brooks or Martin).

If it wasn't for pressure from managment, I don't think walsh would have ever given away the picks and hill for mcgrady. Walsh has been a good gm for a very long time in this league, but the pressure to get into the lebron sweepstakes made his job impossible really. I mean this is the same guy who traded an over the hill davis for a up and comer in j.o'neal. He also got over by trading rose for miller and artest. He's a good basketball guy, but the knicks were looking to dream the dream and they got taken behind the woodshed.

    Peer pressure is a b****.

It's like grade school all over again. Dolan and Co. repeatedly offered Walsh to smoke that joint and caved and smoked the hell out of it. Oh he regrets it now.

Just as LeBron said "I'm taking my talents to South Beach", Donnie Walsh crapped in his Depends and has stopped since.
