Teams called alright but Rox kept Wesley in large part because those who called did not wow them enough to pull the trigger.

Do you think if lets say Chicago offered Luol Deng + filler would we refuse? How about if Atlanta offered Josh Smith + (though highly unlikely)?

Basically what the teams offered must have been lateral moves in our (CD and JVG) estimation hence the balk. When GMs see an updgrade offer from a somewhate desperate or maybe clueless GM they hadly say no.

I absolutely feel the Rockets should look at Bonzi Wells with the full MLE this summer. Bonzi is exactly the kind of swingman we need. He is 6'5" but is bulky. He can score off the dribble and adds toughness. Chemistry risk? Perhaps. But you get a legit 3rd scorer, someone that is athletic and someone that is a bulldog on the court. We need all of those.

No thanks to Bonzi. Actually have fought T-mac before and bullied Yao. Extreme chemistry risk.

He seems to be doing better with the Kings. He is a risk but he could be very useful as well. I think he might end up making a little more than the MLE. I feel that he will be staying with them.

Man, I would be discosolate if either one of those deals were offered and refused. Wesley's a nice player and neither one of those guys may have the career that he did but they both have a better future...

wesley was never going to go anywhere. He is from Baylor and CD is from Baylor. When we got him, he said he had wanted him since he came out of school and was glad to finally get him. He will have a Moochie/Matt maloney albatross-type contract next year and it will be hanging around our necks like kryptonite for the next four years.

I think Bonzi would be a great addition to the team, he's a much bigger SG compared to Wesley which I think would be an upgrade all by itself.

Like Fegwu said, I bet the offers for DW weren't all that great. Wesley has been playing much better lately and let's not forget that we could use some expiring contracts as well.

james posey has a player option and is likely to opt out and test the market. i wouldn't mind spending the MLE on him. we can draft a PG to play 10 minutes behind rafer.

Man, you must really hate Wesley and CD. To suggest CD has an unhealthy bias toward Bears is something you nor anyone else can make any fragment of an argument with. Pathetic.

Agree. I remember what Van Gundy said about trading for McGrady: No matter how much you liked your guys "you'd be foolish" not to dump them if you could get McGrady in return. I think Wesley has been underrated and has glued our backcourt together when it otherwise would have fallen completely apart. But his glue wasn't good enough to win games without McGrady, and I'm sure we would have traded him if a better offer had come along.

Having said that, I'm glad our front office told the press that we had offers and passed on them. It tells Wesley that we value him, or at least that we want to send a message that we value him.

I don't remember either incidents, but i'll take your word for it?

BTW Bonzi is good friends with one of this team's most important contributors, and franchise player, Stromile Swift :p .

I say: Go for it!!! GET BONZI!!! :p :p

Would we have to use the MLE on Spanoulis? We have his rights; I don't know what we can spend on him, but the MLE? Hmn.

We're probably in decent shape on the youth movement. Head, Hayes, Bogans, our first rounder, Spanoulis, Stromile. We'll have solid options. As long as we know to stay away from the Knicks' garbage when they lose to Chicago this summer in the Garnett trade sweepstakes...

Reach down between your legs and grab the largest thing you can find. (Dream on cuz it is not your johnson) Pull it very hard and you will hear a loud popping sound. That will be your head coming out of your a*s!! :p

I lost power on my laptop before I ever even finished this post and was in the preview screen when it happened. My power came up and I did not know my post was there until logged back in to read the thread and read this pathetic crap from you so get over yourself. I had more sarcastic shots to take on some of the great contracts we have given people in the past but you now get to take the shots I was taking at CD.

See this sign  I edited the original post so it is there and my post is as complete as it will get for now. Do you need me to explain the sarcastic sign? I have another sign for your "pathetic" comment and it is of the one fingered variety and it is facing the screen right now. Can you see it or do I need to explain that to you as well. :D

How sweet would it be to get in on the Garnett action? Your right, Minn is not going to want NY trash. Only way they trade with NY is if Garnett threatens all the other teams to retire if traded anywhere but NY

Spanoulis will cost the Rox part of the MLE. There is no other way to get him here that I know of.

won't work because of the buyout. It's gonna come out of the MLE.

It's true if we want V-Span to play for us next year we will have to use some of our MLE money to sign him. And we dont have the LLE anymore because we used that on DA and can't use that 2 years in a row. I am intriguied with V-Span, but if I can get a "legit" swingman that can be our 3rd scorer, and has a competitive fire about him (something JVG is looking for in our players) then I would sign Bonzi and wait on V-Span for one more year.
