How good are the Rangers supposed to be this year?

I know he is visiting, but Arlington still isn't "get up and drive to the park in 10 minutes" like MMP ...

Do we have a link for the Rangers story?

If true, then I'm just about sick and ****ing tired of that primadonna. A story comes out one day where he's retiring, then the next he's going to visit a team that has expressed strong interest in signing him?

Hey, buddy, does your ego need a separate locker in the clubhouse? To quote DaDakota:

    SHEESH!

Yeah, I'm starting to really not care if he comes back. Much more of this ego-driven crap and I'll be leaning towards him to go back to the Yankees where I can comfortably hate him again.

I'm sure Wandy and Astacio can pick up the slack.

Sure, if they started using steroids during the offseason! :D

Clemens will either sign with the Astros on May 1st, or retire after the World Baseball thingie is over with. You can bet the house on it.

Wandys cool, I trust him as a starter but zeke scares the hell out of me. I was at game 3 of the series when he gave up da game to blum! and some still want him to be a starter! Astacio being the 5th day starter till clemens comes back is just scary. I'm prayin that either jason hirch will be ready or carlos hernandez is truely back. if hirch is ready and performs well, we are going to be alright till clemens returns. Carlos should be able to hold his own if he REALLY is back.

Astros fans still have their blinders on in regards to this I see.

Don't be pissed at Clemens. Be pissed at the Astros. They are the ones that screwed up this situation.

Astros took a gamble by not offering arbitration, and while I am hopeful Rocket will come back to the Stros, their gamble could very well end up biting them in the ass. And if it does, it's not Rocket's fault, it's Pupura and Drayton.

The pitch to Blum wasn't a bad pitch at all. It wasn't a mistake pitch where he left it up in the zone. It was a solid pitch... the hitter just got a great swing on it. It happens sometimes, even to great pitchers. Astacio had an ERA of under 4 after the ASG last year... I'll take that in my rotation any day. It's a lot better than Wandy Rodriguez, that's for sure.

Also, Carlos isn't ever going to be all the way back. Certainly, he's better than he was a year ago, but the old Carlos Hernandez is gone forever. That velocity just isn't there.

If Clemens is gonna wait till June 1 to sign w/ any team, do you think he'd sign w/ a team that is a good 4hr drive away and hasn't been to the playoffs since I can't remember or a team that is fresh off a WS birth and is a 20-30min drive to the ballpark, and oh yeah a team that lets him skip roadtrips if he's not pitching. Hmm....

I heard from a reliable source that Rocket has gotten 4 offers. Most notable, a 2-year $46 million(!) offer from the Red Sox. The Rangers offered him something similar but for less. However, the deal includes free charter on a jet to Arlington every time he's gotta go there. I don't know what the 'Stros offered, but I hope Drayton realizes he can't afford to lose him. This whole post might sound bogus, but it's for real (as far as what I'm told).

did the yankees screw up their situation, did the red sox, if clemens leaves I won't be upset if he got more money, I'll never criticize an athlete for taking the money, but he has a history of leaving organizations for whatever reasons so I won't blame this one on the Astros. they have to move on with their plans.
