he did like a dozen salary dump transactions instead of maximizing this season's potential. if you are happy with that i don't have a problem with that. what i do have a problem with is you saying i'm complaining like a b****. if you don't want to read my posts then i suggest you either put me on ignore, or just go shoot yourself.

CP3 has looked very similar to Justin Verlander as of late

In reality, it sounded like they legitimately had a deal for J Green/Garrett Temple and the Grizzlies pulled out. That would have definitely put us in the negative, so I do believe Rockets were trying to load as much as possible. Knight/Chris/25-30 range FRP was hardly enough assets to entice any team to give us good players.

Clutchfans was unrealistic about this and I don't understand why you guys think trash players were going to bring back value. Everyone wanted Ennis out even if it were for a bag of Doritos, that's how much Ennis was hated here, so Morey should be praised for that move. There was no way Ennis was going to bring back anything of value. Both Melo and MCW were trash, so once again, not going to being back anything of value.

If it's one thing I'm upset about, and I'm sure @heypartner would agree, is that it sucks that we spent all of our cash and now there is no potential for us buying an SRP during draft night.

it's hard to give the front office the benefit of the doubt here when literally every single move made just conveniently happened to be towards getting under the tax. of course they come out afterwards and say we almost had a deal, i mean they do this after every single trade deadline. then tilman claims "we could still go over the tax in the buyout market". yeah nobody believed that crap.

the main issue here is that harden has busted his ass (like no other player in memory) to keep the team afloat while cp3 is still just barely holding onto some semblance of his prime -- and these guys spent the entire season saving up every copper penny possible for the owner. basically, WTF

I'm with you man, but having those players had absolutely no value. Ennis was playing decently, but he still had way too many lapses. I am surprised we were able to get Shumpert for Knight considering Shump was expiring vs Knight had an extra year on his deal.

I'll give the front office the benefit of the doubt this year and see what they do in the summer. I know we as fans are usually stuck in the present when we have the kind of team we have now, but at the same time, there will be no flexibility if we have to pay the repeater tax. Delaying it one more year makes sense to me.

It's obvious that Morey was directed to save money at the expense of gifting assets away (whether cash considerations, FRPs or SRPs) which I wasn't happy with losing either, but I guess if this allows to maintain flexibility, then so be it.

The Danuel House situation, I'm not sure what to think of it. Morey has never been one to give in to demands unless he is getting a superstar in return, otherwise he is willing to wait. Im guessing House wants more money and I understand why Morey may think he doesn't deserve it. It's not as if House has been playing great for a whole season. The guy is a journeyman, has not been able to stick on a team. He finally had a good string of games in his career, but that certainly doesn't make you more than a minimum contract player.

regarding the repeater tax, it would not have been an issue until CP3's final year when he'd be a tradeable expiring contract anyways. if we were going to get something out of that $160M contract, the value to be had is in the first couple years so it just makes no sense to not go all in. and to be honest, i am not completely sold they're going to even be paying the tax next season anyways. the precedent they've set this season with what all they did is in my mind, insane.

regarding house, we definitely could have used him the past few months and all morey had to do was honor his request to be converted to a minimum contract for the rest of the season. sure he'll probably get a decent offer in the summer and maybe we lose him, but what morey did probably cost us several games which is the difference between the 3rd and 2nd (or possibly even 1st) seed. at a time when we were desperate for bodies to put on the floor in the season of wilt harden, morey was worried about next year. whhaaaaat??
