[ESPN] Chandler: Mavs will be great defensive team

I would say top 15 with Carlisle and Tyson. Carlisle's an amazing coach

 

I thought the headline, seeing it cropped at first, was...Chandler Parsons guaranteeing the Mavs would finish and be a better team than Houston. I was going to respond to that with:

OH IT'S ON!

 

I voted 11th to 20th, but I couldn't find a way to highlight 20th.

 

They are deep. A lineup of:

Devin/Ellis/Parsons/Aminu/Chandler w/Wright rotating in can be pesky.

 

damn, it's been like 5 months and I'm still salty over that Damian lillard shot.

 

The skill set? He has no lateral quickness after his back problems. Also: piss off. b****ing about Chandler Parsons on a Rockets site is our sovereign right.

 

Was he the coach last year? Tyson ain't that great.

 

They were 22nd last season. Now they replace Dalembert with Chandler (an upgrade) and Marion with Parsons (a downgrade).

I'd say they'll probably be somewhere around 18th - 20th.

 

Felton has the fel energy to not defend

 

Imagine how I feel. I was at the Moda Center and had just spent the last couple of minutes laughing at the Blazers fans all around me after Parsons' put-back. Then Lilliard happens and I have 50 people all pointing and laughing right back at me, AND my team was out of the playoffs.

 

Irrelevant team in terms of title contention unless they find a youth potion for Dirk, Tyson and Devin Harris

 

They will be one of the, if not the worst defensive team in the NBA.

 

The Knicks were worse on defense with Chandler last year than without him. The Mavs were also better on defense with Dalembert, Ellis, Calderon than the Knicks last year with Chandler. Even last year, when Chandler was healthy, the Knicks were 18th in defense.

That and the Mavs were 22nd on defense last year. No matter how you look at it, there's no reason to believe they'll be even average this year. Perhaps they can, if Tyson Chandler revert back to himself 3 years ago and Parsons revert back to his rookie defensive level. But that's as likely as Harden getting All-D honors next year.

 

They'll score a ton and give up more.

Inflated stats galore....

 

The Mavs will be an entertaining team to watch, it'll be like the 80's again, complete with half the team having been rookies back then.

 

I thought about cancelling my NBA League Pass, but now I cant. I have to keep an eye on this Mavs team. I must admit, with Parsons signing with DAL, it makes this rivalry way more entertaining.

 

It isn't irrelevant to us if we face them in the first round.
