Folks, Morey is hiding his hand. We are going to get Dwight Howard. Orlando figures they are not going to beat Boston or Miami this year. And Howard has been rumored to want to jump ship to the Lakers. They are pulling a Jazz and trade their franchise player before the contract is expiring.
I'm still trying to figure this out.... Morey took over in 2007 and McGrady and Yao were extended in 2004 and 2005. What are you trying to prove? The moves Morey's made are as followed (I'm sure some are missed) Traded Spanoulis for Scola Drafted and traded Gay for Battier Drafted Brooks Drafted Landry Traded Jackson and pick for Artest Traded Alston for Lowry Signed Ariza and traded for Lee Drafted Bud Traded TMac and Landry for Martin, Hill, picks Drafted Patrick Patterson Traded David Anderson for a 2nd round pick The only one that could be in question is trading Rudy Gay, who is now getting paid a pretty heavy contract. I fail to see how you build a team around 2 max contracts that were signed before you. Once Yao's contract expires with maybe a year to move things around, you can place blames. Until then, all a person could do it deal with what's given to you, which are low draft picks and trades. Anyone can say that the Rockets could've traded this and that for what someone else traded, but truth of the matter is that the numbers have to match, the player would have to have the right contract length, the other team would be willing to deal their superstar to someone else in the same conference, etc. What's the point of giving up the farm in order to hope to resign someone? I believe the Astros tried that and I still have my "Carlos Beltran Sucks" t-shirt lying around somewhere. You work with what you have and try to get pieces.
is this sarcasm? because you've given me quite the erection at your proposition and i hate being teased
Morey could trade Yao Ming for two 2nd round draft picks and there are people on this forum who would have you believe it was a good trade and he is a genius. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/y_cjTjBsysc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> How is this deal looking now? Unloading Jeffries = Raymond Felton = Carmelo Anthony = Draft Pick Useless...
Really? You believe Felton was the reason why the Knicks landed Melo? And that without him, but with Jordan Hill and a #1, they wouldn't be able to get Melo? Interested in some Arizona beachfront property?
This isn't a rhetorical question, I'm honestly curious: Have you read or listened to any interviews with Morey or any other members of our front office? Stats are one factor amongst many in how our staff makes personnel decisions.
Obviously not when New Jersey was offering up FOUR #1's + Devin Harris and Derek Favors. Denver put the pressure on everybody to get the max out of Carmelo. They even want to trade Felton for #1's so they know his value. You are crazy if you think The Knicks pull off that deal without making that move. They might have still gotten Anthony on the free agent market (probably not), but there is no way that deal goes down without Felton. It was Denver who came back with the counter offer to add Felton that caused the talks to stall a month ago. The Nuggets didn't get a single player in that deal that couldn't play for them. No fillers. If those picks were so valuable, why hasn't Morey done anything with the 2012 protected #1 they got in the deal for McGrady? The swap pick in 2011 is now worthless as I predicted. Bottom line is Morey unloaded a huge expiring contract for Jordan Hill and a protected #1 pick in 2012 coming from a team that now has Carmelo Anthony and Amare' Stoudemire...
Man, this post is so bad you had me ROFL for a while there. Thanks for laughs. I would respond, but I'm not sure you're the type of person who understand logic. So I'll probably be wasting my time. Still, funny post though.
I don't see why some of yall are so damn infatuated with OJ Mayo. All he is is pretty much a less efficient Kevin Martin with off the court issues. Lee's a good, young, solid player with a high ceiling and why do yall want to see him go for a head case who can inconsistently put up numbers?
So Bud, Landry, Brooks weren't developed by Adelman? I think the ONLY reason Morey has a job is because of RA. Morey should wake up every morning and thank him for having this team of nothings at the least competitive every night
