i mean, assuming that roddy isn't included, and dominique jones was sent to houston instead of charlotte.
Yeah, no Houston team has even been good, in any sport. Always disappointing. And yes, it is always management's fault. No question about it.
Makes sense, AB, Bud, J Hill have all lost value this year I believe. Knicks pick next year just lost value. Our so called assets are looking very appealing at the moment. If Morey somehow manages to swing something big he truly is a magician.
I believe Morey is trying to not give up a lot to get players... at this point, he should start taking big shots.. give up w.e it takes to get better players in.
Essentially the only thing of value in that proposal we would be getting back would be Wallace. In exchange we are suppose to give up AB, Yao, Battier, Lee and Hill. Does not seem exactly fair does it. Especially when reports say the Charlette is looking for salery relief and a lottery protected first.
I agree...this group isn't going anywhere. Might as well overpay a little to get what you want. No use holding on to depreciating assets.
You made the point yourself in saying better players. I'd much rather nothing happen that made a trade that is a net loss to us (i.e. not a better player, or decent draft picks, etc).
We have the worst GM in the league! He needs to take that Statistical analysis crap back to MLB...he needs to work the Ticket Sales department for the Houston Rockets and develop a personality because he obviously is not making the right pitch to bring in Superstars...I got hustlers in the street that can make our team a championship-caliber team...time to spend some money Mr. Alexander!!!
The Rockets need to lower the price tag on its players(specially the Vets.) so it can get something done. When worst comes to fall, they need to trade away the vets for multiple draft picks and develop our young talent, and tank the remainder of the season.
The problem is that the younger guys have not made significant progress. We are talking about Jordan Hill, Budinger and to a degree Brooks. If they took a step forward, the team could have sell them as having "Upside." Right now, these guys just look like they won't be signfiicantly better than what they are now. Guys like Scola and Martin, you know what they are already. You trade them if needed, but most likely, these are the guys you keep to hopefully play next to that star you acquire. If you want someone to trade you a star, you are talking about a team that's likely going to have to "Rebuild" soon, and, in such a scenario, youth and upside is what you need to traffic in, not productive vets who are pretty good but not quite as good as that star. Unfortunately, the Rockets youth/upside brigade has underperformed.
how is it that they wouldn't get relief from this trade? yao's expiring and butler's expiring, as well as getting rid of sjax's and wallace's longterm >8 mil deals, would definitely provide them with cap relief. we in return would get wallace, who we so covet, nazi mohammed, a legit defensive 7ft center (who is also an expiring by the way), and two random guards, just to make the salaries match. all we'd be giving up is yao's expiring, AB, lee, battier and hill, and if you feel we're getting jipped, keep hill or lee. all in all, we don't sacrifice any picks, any core elements of the team right now like martin or scola, and we don't give away our young players with the most upside in twill, patterson and lowry, and if you prefer, lee/hill. see champ?
