    What's the Rockets move now?

    Chad Ford (1:39 PM)

Oh boy. Darryl Morey has been super active trying to package all of those assets into a star. He's tried to land Bosh, Melo, DWill, CP3 but no one seems to be in love with Kevin Martin, Luis Scola or any of his young assets. He's going to be creative and aggressive, but just not a lot of interest in what the Rockets are selling.

    Sounds about right.

It stinks, but outside of Martin and Scola, our assets have plunged since the summer.

More and more, we may be looking at a big teardown this summer.

Its gonna end up being a small trade like Lee for Asik and that be it.

No one wants Martin's contract, he's not conducive to being a winner. The Rockets would have been better with Carl Landry.

My issue with Morey is that he kept living in denial after Yao went down. His analytical side and need to appease everyone got the best of him. He should have set his sights on a top 5 pick and traded the players who were making the Rockets a mediocre team as opposed to a terrible one.

But hey, much respect to the dreamer.

My guess is Fesenko for a future 2nd pick. Utah actually have a healthy and loaded frontcourt now.

That Martin for Gortat purpose... Maybe asking for something more we could have done the deal.

This is interesting. If we do have a lot of assets as some claimed, why are there no interest from other teams? overpriced or overestimated?

We should've had a back-up for Yao already but no, we had to get an old guy in Miller (and overpay him) who we could've used maybe in 08-09. Martin is still a keeper imo and to me he should be used like Abdul-Rauf.

Both guys have zero defense and even though Martin is 6'5 or whatever, he can't guard a SG to save his life. Move Martin to the PG position, give him some minutes at SG so Lowry can get 26-30 as back-up PG.

Then move AB / Jeffries / Battier + pick for Wallace. He can be our starting SF, Lee starting SG and then all we need is a center but since there's nobody to get right now try in the off-season.

Mannix says they're working on "multiple scenarios", but nothing is sure....has to be better than only having the 2 options morey talked about...

We might as well bring Tracy McGrady back along with Richard Hamilton.

true, i guess he isn't paramount to the deal though. i still think this deal, minus roddy, would be well worth it for all three teams.

Our assets will be better in a different system. When you have a team of role players, the players won't be as good than if they were playing in an established system.
