    Agreed.

Now, how far do you take that logic. Are there twenty-someodd failures and only one success every year? Are the Patriots, for example, a failure?

I believe there are degrees of success. The Colts, for example, are *far* more successful than the Browns or Texans.

In the NFL there is only one goal and that is winning it all but as a fan all you can ask for is a competative team that goes to the playoffs most years.

If that is the case than you can hold out hope that this year might be your year. I think the Texans will one day be an elite NFL franchise and when that day is here it will be lots of fun!

Absolutely agreed. I was just responding to the poster that asked "what if Carr is good w/ no SB" or "VY is decent w/ SB."

    Smokescreen!

Just a negotiating tactic to lower Vinces' contract demands.

Imagine the suprise, the jubilation when the Texan's announce Vince is the pick!

Mel Kiper Jr's head will probably explode if the Texans draft Vince Young.

His hair would never allow an explosion. It is held together so tightly, it would literally hold his cranium in place.

I would love it if the Texans decided to draft young. I think bush will be a good player but having a elite Qb makes a hell of a difference. Look at the trade between Sd and atl, how many time has lt been to any championship game?? Not trying to start a debate but....

uhhh...are you referring to the Tomlinson for Vick trade?

you can't honestly be implying that Vick/Atlanta has turned out to be the better end of that deal, are you.....?

How many times has Vick been to a championship game? I don't think you'll find anybody reputable that says the Vick/LT trade worked out in favor for Atlanta.

Vick has been to one NFC championship game, I think he's referring to that. Anybody that would still take Vick over LT is smoking crack.

Well if gettting to championship games is the measure of a player's value - what does that tell us about LT?

Who said that? Not me. Using that logic Trent Dilfer is a more valuable player than Peyton Manning.

Now the Titans will be getting Vince and Bud Adams will be saying 'excellent' (or whatever his evil catch phrase is) right to the bank.

My worst nightmare. Just think about how much less we'd have to hear about Young vs Bush if Vince went to the Saints.

That way, it'd be easier for me to root for Vince, and the two players could still have their rivalry.

On the other hand, if Vince played for the Saints, I'd never get to see him play.

I think a Jack Handy quote is appropriate here:

"If God dwells inside us like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting."

Listen, I'm no bandwagoner. I was a season ticket holder for two years. I've got Texans hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, everything. I'm a fan. But now I live in Pittsburgh. And having seen what the Steelers means to this city, even before the season started last year, they quickly became my 2nd favorite team. After the Super Bowl victory, having been with the fans rioting on Forbes Ave., gone to the parade, and really UNDERSTOOD why the fans here are so die-hard, I couldn't help but like them. I was still a Texans fan #1, but the difference between Texans and Steelers was diminishing.

I have an emotional attachment to the Steelers now. Even though I'm leaving Pittsburgh in just over a month, I'm a die-hard fan. The Steelers mean a lot to the city, and now they mean a lot to me. With the Texans, I don't have that emotional attachment. Heck, I was there at 19-10, and I tailgated every week for two years. But the team is just another franchise that happens to be in the city where I'm from. With Vince Young on the Texans, I would feel more "ownership" of the team. I remember his High School career in Houston. I remember his years at Texas, and all that he accomplished. While I'm not a UT graduate, I was cheering him on during the title game, and couldn't have been happier to see a guy from Houston with the MVP. With VY, the Houston Texans become more Houston and more Texan.

I never said that I thought Reggie Bush was a bad pick. In fact, I think that from a purely football standpoint, it's probably the right pick. But that doesn't mean I like it. That also doesn't mean that I should just accept what the Texans do and not have it affect me. My fandom of the Houston Texans is solely a result of being a Texan, and having lived in Houston. That's all I've got keeping me as a fan. With VY on the team, even though I didn't go to his High School or college, it would make me feel more like this was a team I could relate to. A HOUSTON team with a HOUSTON QB.

After Bush is a Texan, I'll still follow the team. Heck, I'll still be a fan. But, with the emotional attachment I have with the Steelers, and the lack thereof with the Texans, I'll be a Steelers fan #1, a Texans fan #2. I'll still care about the Texans, but if the Steelers and Texans play, I'll be pulling for Pittsburgh.

    I'm in Shadyside.

Making a championship game or winning the SB is a reflection of the team, not any specific player on the team. Plenty of crap players have won Super Bowls(ex. Dilfer as mentioned) while many superstars never did (ex. Marino)
