You got me. Bush has never had a subpar game, ever. Never ever ever. Those 86 total rushing/receiving yards against Cal were amazing!!!!

Casserly is a bad GM, those others who pass on him are making a big mistake.

I guess when you have such a big arguement with so many different people putting their 2 cents in, you will have a rehash. Sorry about bring up old stuff, I have not read too much of the big thread.

No, but there was no excitment over the prospect of VY until that game. Before that game everything was Bush, Bush, Bush. After that game it was Vince, Vince, Vince. Even before he officially declared the VY bandwagon had begun.

Texans vs. 49'ers was dubbed the Bush Bowl. Fans were chanting REGGIE BUSH. Nobody even thought about VY as an option until that game. Granted, he hadn't declared yet but since when has that stopped anybody from speculating.

Not saying he's bad or that he sucks or that he'll be a bust. Just saying that the hype didn't start until after his performance in the Rose Bowl.

that's not an argument, we don't have take bush because he was the frontrunner. things change. that's more irrelevant than saying take vy because of the marketing.

Did you even read the rest of the post or did you just stop after that sentence? You know, you're right. Nobody has ever thought about drafting any underclassman before they've declared. Ever!

As has been answered 5,681 times, the reason no one talked about VY before the Bush Bowl was because it was widely believed the VY would not declare for the 2006 NFL draft. If people believed he was going to declare, I guarandamntee you there would have been a lot of people excited to get the first pick to take VY.

The bandwagon began after the Rose Bowl because people started to speculate that after that unreal performance (that is somehow diluted in some people's eyes because of a sub-par A&M game) that he would leave. He declared less than a week later, IIRC.

See RM95's post above. Young stated emphatically over and over again that he would stay in school. Thus, no one talked about him. Bush's decision to declare, on the other hand, was the worst-kept secret in college football. Thus, EVERYONE talked about him.

I'm not sure how much clearer this can be.

    Irony at its finest.

There is no doubt he stock rose after the Rose Bowl. He would have been a high pick but not as high as he is now.

and what's wrong with that, the rose bowl only validated his season. it was a microcosm of his whole season in the biggest game of the year in one of the most anticipated games of all time.

    j. noah from florida, his stock went up after the ncaa tournament. that happens.
