would you guys rather have melo be bought out and come to houston, thus the rockets have anderson and melo. if anderson aint feeling it for some games, melo takes over and vice-versa.

or rather just trade anderson for melo to get rid of ryan's contract?

 

Because Anderson brings more to the table than Harris by way of actually making 3s.

Tack on the fact that SVg had Anderson play next to Howard with great success also plays into why Detroit might take Anderson off our hands so they can pair him with Drummond, aka Orlando Howard Lite

 

So few people are mentioning Ariza's name in possible trade scenarios. Why? Based on pure basketball skills and worth, Ariza should be the first to go after Ryno, NOT Gordon or Capela. Ariza has been declining on both sides of the ball for quite some time now, and I can see his production taking a huge dive in coming years. Gotta get rid of when there's still some value left in him; otherwise we're not gonna get anything in return soon after.

 

Buyout if possible (but its not possible)

Gives us more options and depth. Either way wed be capped out so the question is would you rather have just melo or both? I cant see how having one would be preferable to having both

 

If you've actively read this board for the past few years you will understand why Ariza ain't going anywhere. Hell, even if you just joined this board in the past week you'd have an answer to why no one is putting Ariza in any trade talks

 

What? The stupid reason that Ariza is close with CP3? Yeah, CP3 will be real mad when we trade Ryno+Ariza for Melo. You really think that?

 

I'd rather have acquired him through a buyout, but the Knicks aren't gonna buy out Melo so it doesn't matter

if we can get rid of Ryno and replace him with Melo then that's a win for us

 

Bc Ariza not being included with Anderson is the REAL reason why the Knicks haven't traded us Melo yet

 

Gordon & Capela are untradable assets at this point. I thought it was pretty clear to everyone by now? Morey called Capela 'future All-star', and Gordon just won 6th man of the year, not to mention that he's one of MDA's favorite players on this team.

If we ever make a move, I guarantee that it would involve Ryno and Ariza.

 

To each his own but if the reason why Melo isn't in a Rockets uniform because Morey doesn't want to include Ariza with $60 million worth of Ryan Anderson then I really don't know the NBA as much as I thought I did.

Still, Capela has pretty big upside if things work out well. Maybe not All-star, but definitely a solid, starting C caliber player for sure.

Is Ariza that much better than Tucker at this point in his career? Ariza shot 34% from 3PT line last year, and his defense was just OK. Why do we really need him? I just don't see the reason.

 

Exactly zero people in the NBA think kanter is more valuable that Anderson to a championship contender.

Plus Ariza is one of the only original rockets left. He's been very loyal

 

Nobody's gonna take Ryno's toxic contract alone. We need to sweeten the deal, and only way to do that is to include other players and few draft picks. Among the players we could spare, Ariza should be the first to go based on his worth as a basketball player. Nothing against the guy, but that's just how the business works.

 

Not sure, i think their value as a player is similar, after that, it all depends on what you need, if you need a center/rebounding you pick Kanter, if you need a 4 and shooting youpick Anderson.

 

True but once again I think Ariza is this glue guy who harden n CP3 want and has helped the team get a lot of these guys. I don't see it happening

It saves them some cap space to match offers for KCP

They also get the "best player" in the deal

But we get two players and both are more athletic and both can get hot

Then melo gets bought out and we use MLE for him . PJ gets SnT'ed for the NG's

Ryno+Ariza for Melo or other All-star caliber player wouldn't upset anyone on this team, even CP3 and Harden.

Ryno+Ariza for some scrub wouldn't work and potentially upset Ariza's hommies. It all depends on who you get in return.

 

i will be a happy man this summer if morey can somehow get marshmelo without giving up EG. after that, the team will be completed.
