I didn't mean to sound rude with that post because I love Houston, it's amazing. But I'm just wondering what makes us so appealing to NBA players. :)

If the Rockets could bring in Camby without paying him a lot of money (by league standards, of course), I would feel a lot better about next season.

Players always mellow out so much during their last years. Camby probably wouldn't be a bad backup for Yao. But it will depend on what happens with him in Portland.

It still makes my stomach cramp up whenever I remember how Mutombo was paid peanuts year after year because of the promise for an NBA championship. That was just sickening. I was actually somewhat happy he was forced into retirement by injury. Better to go down fighting than being told to go away. Imagine if he wanted to re-sign this year and the Rockets said no.

Bima, do you really think Camby would take the LLE? I figured we would be lucky to get him on the MLE. He's old and injury prone, but still a quality player.

Well Morey doesn't have to travel far to dangle himself in front of Camby...

We should make Camby a top priority in the offseason! Offer him about 4 mill for 2 years and Yao's insurance! A Yao-Camby tandem is far better than a Bynum-Gasol or Nene-Martin duo! We would be instant contenders if we sign him. He doesn't like change, so him going back to Houston shouldn't be a problem, since he lives here in the offseason.

Also, with Oden and Prizbylla coming back , I don't think Portland will re-sign him. I think his stay in Portland was just a rental.

Camby at the LLE would be a no-brainer. The real question is if he would take that. Probably not.

I think Bima is right. LLE is what Camby should take. He is 36 years old. You cannot judge him on the basis of his early career performance. Hopefully, he wouldn't be another Brent Barry.

I doubt Camby will re-sign with Portland... they are gonna get Oden and Pryzabilla back next year... so it doesnt make sense for Camby to stay.

    If he accepts the LLE..

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger
    Ariza/Battier
    Scola/Hill/Jeffries/lottery pick?
    Yao/Camby/Andersen
