T-mac will not play for the Lakers since they signed Matt Barnes. I really don't know where McLady will play this season. This guy should just retire now.
if he is not that much improved, the bulls are right: he should hang it up. he had a great career individually. it's unfortunate he never achieved playoff success, esp. for a guy who did play well in the playoffs. he should continue with his philanthropy work and he can make an impact that way.
That's what I said. Contrary to Major's belief, McGrady is trying to get signed but he's acting like he holds all the cards.
I wonder what he said in the meeting because his comments in the media were not that bad to me. I mean I think every bench player wants a chance to prove they can be a starter on the team. I guess because he's a former star that they feel like he could cause problems in the locker room by coming off the bench.
T-Mac's an old 32. Still, it seems like he ought to be able to rehab himself into a decent role player-- see Grant Hill, Antonio McDyess, et.al.-- but his rehab will have to be even more mental than physical. A year away from the game might do him good, if he can keep his mouth shut, learn humility, and get hungry. Maybe some team will give him a 10-day look near the end of this season...
tmac always does this stuff. I know he used to be one of the top players in the league but that was then, this is now. I understand that he was a great player but that doesn't mean he still is. His body isn't the same but his ego is still the same. I'm tired of hearing him talking like he still a walking superstar. As much as I love him playing for Houston back then, his actions are irrational. He has to understand that he isn't the same player and no matter how much work he put in this summer, nothing changed much. He has to accept the fact that he is a role player and nothing more.
He'll get a contract somewhere. But if his goal is to start, and he'd be unhappy not starting, then this ensures he doesn't end up in an unhappy situation. Either the Bulls sign him knowing his position that he wants to start, or they don't and he finds somewhere else that does give him that opportunity. If he'd rather be a bench player with the Bulls than start for someone else, he'll accept the idea of being a bench player and everyone will be happy that way. Again, unless you think he should have lied to the Bulls and told them he'd be happy as a bench player and then end up a cancer, pissing everyone off, I don't see how his comments made the situation any worse.
LOL, I bet you if he had thought of it, he would have done it. Its always been about T-Mac with him. He wasn't always like that, he really changed within the last few years. I'm not a fan anymore, I would change my moniker if I could.
Make a contribution and send Clutch an e-mail. Sometimes people have kept their post number and "incept date," which is what you care about. Just do everything privately via e-mail. Good luck.
I for one am shocked. McGrady says he can play, and by golly I believe him. Too many haters not believing in T-Mac.
Succinct and appropriate. And I "lol'd" How is it so hard to say "I'll come off the bench the entire season, start if they need me to" Patrick Patterson has said all the right things in one summer league before his 1st PREseason game more than McGrady has his whole career.
Please do something foul and enable me to froth at the mouth to express my underlying douchebaggery. As long as someone ELSE "brings it out of YOU", you're excused and its not douchebag-ness
I'm sure that's what Iverson thought too. Turns out he had an inflated opinion of himself. Does that sound familiar? The only other team we know of that had interest signed Rasual Butler instead. I don't think he should have done anything differently. I'm enjoying this. The Bulls want him to be Rasual Butler and he wants to be Tracy McGrady. It's hilarious.
