I'll be annoyed if we trade for him too. I'd rather wipe the slate clean and start over than go the band-aid route with fake franchise players and mentally weak b**ches.
It sounds like Pau know he's gone and wants to direct where he goes. But where did Minny come from. What do they have? And what can Chicago give up. LA doesn't want Boozer in any manner. They want a point guard a point guard a serviceable pf and a pick to replace Gasol. They want flexibility to relieve salary when Kobe's 30 mil kicks in. Lowry, Scola and expirings fulfil that deal. The other teams need help from other teams to accomplish that.
Pau scared to be "the man" in H-town. He's naturally wired to be a b****. Not his fault, though. He doesn't know any better. He's just looking to lurk in the shadows of another alpha dog.
do we have a reason not to believe him on this? i'm pretty sure his pau gasol sources are better than mine! it's hardly surprising to suggest that pau gasol might not want to come play for the rockets. i don't find that remotely suprising at all. fortunately, i don't want his ass here either anyway.
It's clear by now that the guy genuinely does not want to come to Houston. Couple that with how poorly he performed as the best player/leader of a team in the past and I have no clue why the Rockets would want him here. If we are going to be a .500 team, I would rather be that way with tough-minded, dedicated players as opposed to another soft superstar who loses/gains confidence in his game faster than a traffic light changes colors. If Morey pulls the trigger on this, I'm done with the Rockets until he and/or Les is no longer part of the organization.
Well he had a good season more than one year ago... was Top 12 player in the league, now he dropped to Top 25. Disaster in the Playoffs though So I could understand why we wanted to trade for him before the season. Now I am not so sure.
Plain and simple he's an upgrade. A considerable one. I love Scola as much as the next guy but he is just not a 2 way player. Down the stretch he can't rebound and he even struggles to score. Gasol is a two way player. You can argue that Scola is better offensively ( I disagree) but Gasol is clearly a better rebounder and rim protector than Scola. He's a 2 way player. In addition he is a go to guy. Scola was not. In the fourth quarter coach bench's Scola because his defense suffers but also because his offense suffers late in the game when they focus on try to stop him. Gasol is a better fourth quarter scorer. Don't get me wrong he is not Love but he is better than Scola. That is why trade for him over Scola. He is a definite upgrade.
Give me loyal soldiers like Scola and K-Low all day, every day. Like Barkley says, "they're foxhole kinda guys." Gasol's a coward. He doesn't deserve to play beneath the back-2-back banners and Dream's retired jersey.
Not that Matt Bullard is the worlds greatest trade expert, but he has really really been adament about coming out to say that the front office needs to really make sure that Pau Gasol is going to buy into what they are doing here in Houston, because if he comes here to Houston and sulks it will blow up in their face. That being said, I think Pau is a bit soft emotionally, but I think he is an upstanding professional, and I dont think he's a high risk player to trade for. I dont think he's in the same vain as Lamar Odom. I just think he's too much of a professional to go about it that way. However, if the Rockets dont start winning games and giving him hope, I think he could suffer emotionally after awhile. But yeah, dont listen to anything Bucher says. Its very likely that someone from the Bulls front office is giving him that info just to scare off Houston and get them out of the bidding for him.
I'll believe it when I see a quote or hear the player say it. You guys get so upset that players can't make up their own minds, but you make your determinations before even giving the players a chance. Yeah, Howard has been quoted and heard flip-flopping about wanting to be traded, but there hasn't been a quote yet or a sound bite yet that has Pau saying that he doesn't want to come to Houston. For all you know, a reporter can say that Pau wants to retire one day, and then the next day that he doesn't. And many of you will hold it against Pau for not making up his own mind, when he never publicly said anything like that. Wait for the player to say it before you make your determinations that a guy is a douche. Until then, you're as bad as the reporter spreading rumors about what a guy said without actually quoting him. *shakes his head*
He's a mental midget, a la Lamar Odom. Embarrass him, demean him, frustrate him, and he'll check out. When the going gets tough, Pau makes like a b**** and runs for the door.
