haters gonna hate...Im just gonna wait for the season...and yes...F Howard...i really now just dont want that lockerroom-cancer in Houston...(irony:MD Anderson cant even find a cure for this 7 foot menace)
There's an article somewhere that talks about how most NBA GMs don't really know what they're doing and don't actually work most of the time. They just wait for their team to tank then hope to get lucky with the draft lotto or they just sign players to contracts based on media hype. Can't seem to find the article. If you look at the East and how those teams are managed I don't think I would trust any of those "sources" and their opinions.
Who are these GM's and how many of them are there? I laugh when people quote anonymous General Managers.
I wonder if that unnamed EC GM was Glen Grunwald. Really after seeing the kid perform on the biggest stage as a starter there are still doubts about his game from NBA GM's and coaches. Maybe I'm the one that's crazy but I think there is room to improve. If he gets his 3pt % up to 40% and his FT % up to 85% then he can be an all-star.
If Morey is really good at one thing it's evaluating talent. His one misstep there is Twill but he can't be perfect. Lowry>Alston Dragic (+a 1st rounder!)>Brooks Landry 2nd rounder Budinger 2nd rounder Parsons 2nd rounder Ppat is above average for a #14 pick. Morris is not looking good, but many #14 picks have been just as bad. Morey knows how to evaluate players. If he thinks Lin and Asik are starters then he's probably right.
This. Broussard and others (like DD) act like there is some huge divide between starter basketball and bench basketball when it is often a matter of opportunity. Plenty of former "career backups" becoming high level starters when given the minutes.
there was an interview with this flake where he said it would be best for the nba and all basketball fans if orlando traded him to the big market in brooklyn. I vomited a little.
I believe the quote was actually "I secretly wanted Dwight to get traded to Brooklyn because of the large market appeal, and attention it would have brought to basketball in the same way that Lebron's decision to go to Miami did." I understand Broussard feeling this way personally given his own agenda, and I respect him for being honest about having "a dog in the fight" for Dwight to go to Brooklyn. At least he's being open about that much to put everything people from his company say into perspective for the viewer or listener. This should help people understand why there is this infatuation with ESPN folks when it comes to reporting on LA or NY drama in sports. Dwight going to the Nets is good business for him, other talking heads/entertainers, ESPN, and the NBA as a single business entitie. Its NOT good for the individual franchises within the NBA that are looking out for their own business & basketball health alone.
Well some disagree with the unnamed scouts and GM's Kobe said Lin is the real deal, so I will go with him until proven differently.
"question is whether (Lin) will win them more games" I may not be an "expert" like multiple sources broussard, but i do know that: Lin > Fortson, therefore by default he will make us a better team
The anon GM is not taking into account the business opportunities that Lin brings to Les. And Asik has a very tradeable contract, and both contracts are only three years each.
