"Didn't hint" means Philly flatout offered Iggy and Dalembert.

In all seriousness that team will probably fight the Lakers untill the end of a 7 game series. I think the aging Lakers will be breathless. It all relies on who is on the bench. Remember Kobe, Odom, Fisher, Artest are no younger.

As long as he cuts the mop from his head, I'd love to have Noah

If you're the Wizards, why would you do this unless Landry and/or Brooks is included? This deal is asinine and made me a bit more stupid by reading.

For the record, not saying that isnt the case with the favoritism :) Vassilis Spanoulis got a nice amount of Euro-boost when he was here.

I'm saying some of it was at least out of assessing the team needs around that time. Its "JJ Redick is better than Luther Head", "Hinrich is better than Rafer", "Imagine if we had Mike Miller instead of __crappy combo guard__"

In recent years, the most favorite Rockets team and arguably one of the most successful is the one that had a white All American looking point guard, and a sleek backup shooting guard from a famous NBA white family. I think just as anyone can say gimme another Steve Francis, someone can say gimme another Bobby Sura (cuz he seems like a cool drinking buddy).

I really don't think you could be anymore wrong. Just look at the support Tracy McGrady has received. Or the fan fair Stevie Franchise received? Or how about Hakeem? Drexler? Barkley when he came? People were pissed when we trade Cassell. They embraced Vernon Maxwell even though he was a thug. The list goes on and on. You seem to be trying to accuse whites of being racist, but it is you that I think is the racist one trying to turn something that has absolutely nothing to do with skin color and making it a race issue.

I guess every message board has to have their own version of Al Sharpton....

Agree with you regarding the injuries. Everything else I don't agree with. Martin is a legit, top tier NBA scorer who can get his own shot from any place on the court. Iggy is a great defender who can slash on offense and who has a decent jumper. He's a second option on a good team and a third option on a great team. His game just does not address this team's weaknesses where Martin's game absolutely does (pure, efficient scorer).

I don't see why everyone likes Butler. He's overrated and not even that young (29) to build around. We can do MUCH better IMO!!! If we can't get Bosh, Iggy, or something even better I'd just stand pat.

I think he said that more or less.

I have to agree with the guy though, if Martin can score and nothing else, well that doesn't really do it for me, you know?

Maybe I misunderstood but I got the impression from his post that he feels Iggy is as good a scorer as Martin. I disagree with that strongly.

Any PG who has a career FG% hovering around 41% is going to be expected to bring a whole lot of other intangibles. He's a pesky defender and an accurate 3 point shooter, but Hinrich doesn't have any flow to his game. There's no patience, no ability to consistently create or make things happen when he beats his man off the dribble. He employs helter skelter tactics like Steve Blake in hopes of confusing an NBA defense and finding an opening - and as a result is not suitable for anything more than a backup role.

Take away his fat contract and pasty skin, and I still don't see him as anything more than a rich man's Eric Maynor, Earl Watson or Ronnie Price. The only thing that separates him from them is his perimeter shooting. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh here, but there's a reason Chicago has failed miserably trying to construct an NBA team full of guys who "got it" in college.

    No, he wouldn't.

Iguodala just adds to our strengths as another blue collar player. He doesn't have the skillset (or something different) to push us over the edge with a healthy Yao, but if he's the best available talent you can find for McGrady's contract, you take it. I see it as collecting an asset, not finding the missing piece.

Whereas Bosh, Butler/Miller, Joe Johnson, Kevin Martin etc. add a completely new element to the team.

    This sums it up exactly.

I'm scared of bringing in Kevin Martin due to injury history but IF he were healthy it would be a no-brainer. I get guys being gun shy due to his injury history but the guys claiming that Iggy is a better fit here are out of their minds.

To me, Butler, is the best combination of value, health and most of all ability. Unlike Iggy, he can actually finish a play where he never touched the ball until he scored. He will fit Adelman's offense nicely. Yes, Iggy is the healthiest but he doesn't really add a new dynamic to the offense.

If it is Caron vs. Iggy vs. Martin, Martin is the most likely to break down completely and be unmovable.

Iggy appeals to me because even if he doesnt make us contenders, he is a heck of a trade piece still.

I half-agree here. I'd still love to take Scola and his mop from whoever had if we didn't. ;)
