Chicago is not our best trading partner and Hinrich for his amount is not the answer. Better off taking on Dalembert if this is the case, which is definately worth taking on Igoudalas contract.

which part of "assuming the other players you get back are the real impetus" did you miss?

if there are players on the bulls that you want, having to absorb kirk hinrich isn't so bad. if there arent, then there's no point in even discussing this is there?

Johnson is a free agent so he may leave regardless of what the GM wants to do. He's on record complaining about the fans or should I say, lack of fans they have.

Is it really Morey that wants a power forward, or is it ignorant sports journalists assuming that we must want a power forward? This article says Rose is off-limits, so logic dictates it must be Noah. Why not Deng?

i heard this too...on NBATV. Houston's a big market, has great fans support. Make a trade for Bosh, sign both Bosh and maybe a sign and trade for Johnson after the season ends... I'm sure both will be willing to take less money for a chance to play for a winning organization.

Why Deng when you have Battier and Ariza? Who knows, maybe it is Deng? I'm not saying it's Noah but from all the other rumors out there, most of the guys have been PFs. I gave some examples: Stoudemire last year, Randolph, Bosh, and Jordan Hill this year, maybe Noah or maybe Tyrus Thomas? All rumors though so I cant be sure on anything. Just speculation on my part.

I got a question but didnt want to make another Tmac trade thread.

If we do trade Mcgrady, would it be conditional on him passing a physical? If so, what are the chances he actually passes? I'm guessing he had to pass one to get on the floor in Houston for his "cameos". I just have this gut feeling that we wait to the trade deadline, trade him, the fans get excited with the offer, and all of a sudden, he fails the physical, voiding the trade, moving past the dealine, therfore stuck with him.

(Sean Elliot was traded by the Pistons to the Houston Rockets for Robert Horry, Matt Bullard and two second-round draft picks on 2/4/94; trade voided when Elliott failed physical on 2/7/94.)

^ a team can waive a physical when trading for a player

so if team B getting mcgrady just wants him for his expiring contract they can waive the physical and the trade will still go through

Thanks for clearing that up Yoyo. I have been thinking of that situation for the past few days. Hopefully Morey includes this clause in any deal for Mr. Glass

Does it really matter that Iggy haven't missed any games?

If he comes here he will break his wrists and tear some ligaments.

Butler is an all-star kind of player with a decent contract. The only way the Wiz trade him is if they get a lot of talent back and/or get to dump some salary with him. I bet they'd let him go in exchange for McGrady and Budinger if we took back Jamison as well. With Jamison we could let Scola walk and have a lineup like this next year:

    PG: Brooks / Lowry
    SG: Butler / Taylor
    SF: Ariza / Battier
    PF: Jamison / Landry
    C: Yao / Andersen

Didnt hint as to who would be involved in the deal minus McGrady and Iggy.

I would imagine the Sixers are going to realize that they are going NOWHERE with the core of players they have now and getting rid of Iggy would be a huge step to start rebuilding their squad via FAgency this Summer and next when Dalembert's contract goes off the books.

A little off topic but I could seriously see them signing Rudy Gay to a deal for them, as long as Memphis doesn't still want him. He should be affordable enough to nap after Tracy comes off their books unless someone severly over pays for his services.

    Carry on.

i read that as to be that the rumor of iggy and dalembert wasnt a rumor but an actual offer but houston declined at the moment

i think the dalembert contract is what morey doesnt want to touch and as the deadline approaches more teams will have to take assessment of themselves whether or not they will be a contending team or if they need to hit the reset button.

no trade happen is the worst case scenario and its not a terrible option for the rockets just not the best one

Wish we could go after gay and gasol, instead of iggy and dalembert.

That's kind of how I read it too. If Les will spend the money, T-Mac straight up for Iggy and Sam doesn't seem like a bad option at all, especially if he could move some other pieces for Bosh.

Can you imagine Brooks, Iggy, Ariza, Bosh and Dalembert on the floor? Talk about athleticism and speed...
