The team and the city are well justified. When the going gets tough, the Turkoglu gets choking. His brickfest against the Lakers this year was heinous.
Yep, that's why it's hard for me to figure out what the heck it's supposed to mean (today). Because, in the past (15-20 years ago), "combo guards (normally PG)" were freak-of-nature superstars like Isiah, Oscar and Tiny Archibald (34 points a game and 11.4 assists per game). That sounds more like a "COMBO guard (emphasis combo)" to me. Of course, they didn't call them "combo" anything. They were just superstars. Today, "combo guard" seems to mean a PG that is neither great at "PG duties" or "SG duties." A "tweener (kind of a compliment)." Decent at both skills, but not great <---Around 15-18 ppg and say, 4.0 - 7.0 apg. Or maybe even an undersized shooting guard that really doesn't do "PG duties" very well; Bobby Jackson (13 ppg, but only 2.1 apg; capable of 29pt games). Or Iverson (26ppg and 6.8 apg). Francis too (21ppg, 6.5 apg). It's obvious that, to those that can score (ability wise), young prospects have neglected their passing skills over the past 20 years. McGrady should average MORE apg. If only if he would make the decision to practice that skill (like Jordan, Bird and Oscar did). Anyways, Barry seems to have evolved into an efficient shooting guard with efficient passing skills. Something that is rare today. For a starting role player, that is.
