{ESPN} Bradford Dolittle suggest Iman Shumpert for Greg Smith

lol i know Knicks got a dumb owner and front office , not that dumd though. This Doolittle dude is trolling so hard about Knicks would trade their starter for our benchwarmer who can't even get any meaningful minutes.

 

Consistently PER under 13, worse than reputation defense through advanced metrics and average 3pt shooting. He's got some potential as young player.

This is the kind of players Morey tend to pick up with minimum contracts and team options for free.

 

Shumpert would make a real nice back up SG. We dont really have a real SG behind harden. No, Lin is not a SG. He is undersized. Garcia is more of a SF, doesnt have much of a handle.

 

Not even the Knicks would be dumb enough to do that trade.

 

Beverley is comparable to Shumpert. Probably a little better even. But if it were for just Greg Smith, then absolutely.

 

Maybe Morey could wear a Jared Jeffries (sp?) jersey

 

I like greg smith. He is an inexperienced defender, but when asked to play he can bang the hardest from our bangers. at 22/23? has a nicer jump hook than dwight!
how about toy canon and our pf of the future for iman. we need someone with a flat top. Do The Right Thing, maury.

 

Bev is nowhere near Shump's talent level. Just sheer size alone Shump can defend much bigger opponents. Would have helped last night.

lol sick trade. As much as I really like Greg, he won't get very many minutes. But having shump for defensive situations would be awesome. Although he will be taking someone's minutes away...question is who?

Shumpert's been pretty bad this season defensively. He gambles too much, gets beat by his man etc.

 

if this trade was to go down I would think the kinicks would want

This is the same writer that describe D-Mo as "stout" and Asik as highly mobile but easily pushed around by big centers. I don't think he has a clue. Not that I would be against the trade.

 

Dolan is dumb enough to possibly follow through with this move. He is one of the worst owners in the NBA, but lucky enough to have a town like NYC to continually throw their money at the Knicks for him. Shumpert on the rockets lineup would be an absolute steal. His defense is amazing, the guy can slash into the lane and also has enough athleticism to power through traffic. This video comes to mind:

Sure for a quick fix, Asik would work. But what happens when Tyson Chandler comes back? Knicks try their version of the Twin Towers experiment?

 

The Knicks probably wants us to also take Amare Stoudamire in the deal as well.
