This sounds exactly right. I'm sure there is a list. Problem is, only a very small handful know the full and exact list. So, you get a source promised anonymity, he speculates what makes sense to him, and over the course of a conversation, an educated guess gets translated as fact because there's not much consequence for being wrong. Happens all the time when you grant anonymity as a standard practice. I'm not taking too much from it.

Well the teams listed are still listed by ESPN. All Colangelo says is that it is narrowed and that Toronto is one of the teams. I mean, it could have been that he said yeah, here is a list of teams and there were quite a few. ESPN could then report, their is a large list of teams, and list off like 15 teams. That wouldn't be much of a story. So the juxtapose it with Colangelo's quote, which seems like damage control (don't worry there aren't to many teams and we are definitely one of them). Seems to me that if there were more teams, ESPN sure picked their favorites, ie teams that are linked to Kobe, Wade, and Lebron.

I always read your posts, CometsWin, and enjoy them, but this one has me confused...

"Scola's productivity numbers are inflated by ... the use of the smallest, no offensive ability having starting center in the history of basketball."

You're saying that Scola's production has been inflated by Chuck playing center? Really? I watched at least 80 of the 82 games and that thought never entered my mind. Hell, Chuck playing next to Scola let the defense key on Luis. I don't get your point. (I left out Yao. If he wasn't here, who cares?)

We should remember to take into account the fact that around this time of the year that there are tons of smoke screens put up everywhere. No one knows where anyone is signing at this point. If LeBron stays in Cleveland, that rules out Bosh wanting to go Chicago, New York, and Probably even Miami. Ultimately it just depends on where the OTHER superstars sign, because no star wants to be the only good player on a team.....

I'm glad we have this Bosh 'list/no list/incomplete list/convince Bosh to put us on the list' drama to give us a break from the regular LBJ sweepstakes news.

Actually I'm tired of both already.

The only thing that having this pseudo-list being posted publicly is that it drives up the asking price (i.e. whatever Toronto demands) higher, forcing teams to outbid each other and "over trade" for Bosh. THAT in itself would take Morey (and, thusly, the Rockets) out of the equation.

Damage control. The agent doesn't want options to be limited right now because this would limit their bargaining power.

   Ha ha ha ha ha ha hah! Like Bosh wouldn't be interested in other teams besides the rockets and the rockets aren't even mentioned. Where's the needle so I can pop the baloon. Big whoop.

Bosh either comes or doesn't come. Bosh can make demands all he wants but in the end the managment is going to do what's in their best interest. If Bosh doesn't like the team they want to S&T with, then he can walk, take less money with NY and be a two time loser. It put's Toronto in rebuild mode, but they will be in a better situation come the new CBA.

Peeps comparing Bosh to Scola??? loooooool

Basketball is more then numbers, just look at how players play

Look at Odoms numbers, he has all-star skill all over him, he is the 6th man on LA, just look at talent and what and how players do it

Scola is a worker, 110% every night, love him, but don't compare him with all-star material

Numbers just HELPS you materialise what players have been doing, if you want to see how they actualy play, see games

For some of you Ellis is probably top 10 in this league right??? Wilt is probably the best player of all time??? And lebron is bettter then MJ???

Bosh is an improvment, if he doesn't want to come np, DM will kill another GM after robing him to death

Not necessarily. Bucher's tweet after said:

Those seem to be specific teams he asked about. Sure, there could be other teams on that list.. but not necessarily the Rockets.

For me, the Bosh dream has ended. I hope we have a good plan B.

You DO realize that when I made my comparison, it was to try and disprove the theory that Bosh is THAT MUCH BETTER than Scola right? I wasn't saying Bosh is a better player than Scola at all. I'm just trying to see or even justify spending 14-15 million dollars a year on a player whose production is slightly better than our current starting power forward.

If youth, 2 inches of height, commanding a double team once in a while, and having the experience of being "the man" on a team (a team that never got anywhere IIRC) is worth Max money, that's all people have to say and I'll be quiet. Seriously. But to say Bosh is worth Max dollars for SEVEN years because he's world's better than Scola is both overrating Bosh and underrating Scola at the same time.

Correct that: I wasn't saying Bosh ISN'T a better player than Scola at all.

Scola doesnt get consistantly double teamed nor does he draw the amount of fouls that Bosh does which would be a HUGE book to our team.

Regardless, its not about Bosh vs Scola, its about Bosh and Scola vs Scola and ???

I get you. Have a hard time paying max salary for stats and nothing to show for it. It reminds me to much of the T-Mac trade, we upgraded talent but still didn't get out of the first round. Wade yes, Lebron yes, Johnson no, Bosh no.

    lolol

For How much do yall think Scola will resign???

Do you know a guy named Varejao??? he resignd for 8M a year, talking about overpaying???

90% of the above average players are overpaid, but you talking about max contract to Bosh, i will only ask you, who infact deserve those contracts??? very few right, do you prefer paying Bosh or Amare??

You can't forget that if you don't want to pay, someone will, and in the end you lose what could be a stud

Just look at Rudy gay, that guy will almost get a max contract, because teams will miss the top guys and will overpay an above average player, i can bet with yall

I wasn't arguing who was the better player, I was questioning why people on this board are clamoring for Chris Bosh if we already have a serviceable and more than adequate starting power forward already. Especially if it's going to cost the Rockets a significant amount of cap room. If the Rockets are in the market for a 4 (and all signs are pointing to 'yes'), I'm sure Bosh isn't the end-all-be-all option out there since they had tried to acquire Amare during the deadline as rumored, and (as much as I hate to say this) Carlos Boozer is also a player the Rockets could consider (though I'm sure Morey won't be dealing with Utah anytime soon).

If the Rockets got Bosh I wouldn't b**** and moan and I'd support him as much as I've supported anyone that wore a Rockets uniform. I'm just thinking that Morey has other intentions (i.e. targeting another player) despite letting the public know the Rockets are interested in Bosh.
