Could it be Possible all 4 teams could be in violation of targeting Bosh before the 1st?

Maybe Bosh is just exposing teams trying to cheat?

Lol what? So because he couldnt win anything on his own, then he is a role player? Worst. Logic. Ever.

I can list you many superstars that havent won anything on their own.

And what do you mean he couldnt win anything on his own regardless of all that talent? What talent? And Scottie led that team to the Eastern Semis in 1994...only to lose in game 7 against the Knicks...the team that made it to the finals.

And role players dont make the hall of fame.

This is what I know of Al.

Physically, he is listed as 6'10" (6' 8.5" w/o shoes) with a wingspan of 7' 2.5" and a standing reach of 9' 2". He is 25 years old and is fresh off a post-ACL surgery year. He is not an explosive athlete by NBA standards but possesses a quick 2nd jump and has a deceptively effective first step. With his great length, soft hands, and great use of his body, Al can finish well in traffic. My comparison of him would be a younger Elton Brand with less huffort.

Offensively, he is probably one of the top 5 big men in terms of polished low post game and has great footwork. His array of moves include a right-baby hook, up-and-under scoops, reliable jumper to about 15', spin moves, and an assortment of fakes to keep the defense off-balance. He is a great offensive rebounder and will generate 3-4 second chance opportunities per game. He doesn't go to the free-throw line as often as other top tier scorers. He is not a good passer out of double teams but still shoots a good % from the field even when defenses focus on him. His turnover ratio is relatively low for his usage rate. As a right handed player, he favors the left block.

Defensively, his best asset is his rebounding. His lack of agility prevents him from being effective in pick&roll situations. He blocks shots at a decent rate but is not a dominant man-to-man defender or weakside shot blocker. Similar to Kevin Martin, I don't think that Al has had to focus too much on defense up till this stage of his career.

Other considerations: His salary is $12mil but that is decent considering being a 7 foot stiff these days will get you 10mil+. He had ACL surgery and spent most of last year working his self back into game form but was starting to be more productive toward the end of the season so is a good buy-low candidate. Some people question his motor and leadership abilities but those would not be what we ask him to do on the ROX.

    In Morey We Trust

I don't know what the deal is. Does DM think he can convince Bosh? Was Bosh never as important as we all thought? Was it all just a smokescreen?

I never thought we had to have Bosh. There are other big men, plus we can go with Yao/Scola/Hill/Hayes and do all right. Plus, we have that #14 pick, plus the MLE, not to mention using those future draft picks as trade bait. If we use the MLE, plus throw something in to move up in the draft, I think we can do pretty well. Also, we can make some kind of deal in February.

I don't know what the story is, but I'm sure DM will do pretty well over the next few months.

We have enough Robins. We need a Batman. Let CB be Lebrons Robin.

Personally, I wouldn't mind losing Bosh if it means getting a top 5 pick instead. We need an impact player. If that's not one of the top FAs, then it needs to be a high pick.

I know some have asked this before but I'll ask it again: What can Bosh legitimately give the Rockets that Luis Scola can't? The only two things I can think of off the top of my head that tells me "yea that is a DEFINITE advantage for Bosh" is youth and height.

I would not be surprised to find out DM actually made the list himself and gave it to CB to release to someone he is close to. Why? Because nothing in the basketball universe outside the will of DM.

If Chuck Norris were a Jedi Knight then you might be close to understanding the influence of DM. If CB doesn't become a Rocket then it's because DM never intended it. He had better plans for the Rockets anyway.

    It says in the Bible.

    In DM I trust.

I have more faith in your second theory. I think this may have been a smoke screen all along.

Are GMs even allowed to talk to other players yet?

Stupid question. It would be like asking people what can Lebron do that Joe Johnson can't.

Basically Bosh can do everything Scola does BETTER, and add in some defensive length in the paint that Scola can't do.

I love Scola but the guy has serious limitations, starting defensively, much like a few of our other starters this past season.

I've questioned whether Bosh was worth a long-term max contract but he brings a lot more to the table than Scola.

bosh will get paid twice as much as scola and for probaly 2-3 years longer
is bosh going to average 30 pts and 15 boards? i think not, is going to even average 2 blocks? i doubt it. is going to play 82 games a year like scola? history would say probably not

Bosh is good, but he ain't worth what it would cost us in terms of personnel. Fark him.

Bosh can't decided what team he is traded to when he wants a sign and trade.
