Don't need him, if he doesn't want to come here his loss.

Bosh is only after the big market and big lights just like Lebron James. As the time has went on, I've been ready to move on from the thought of acquiring Bosh.

Bulls a good team, I think any FA would like to go there.

Lakers- Seriously? Bosh just wants to be turned into a role player? Lakers are not giving up any of their key players for him.

    Heat- Not surprised here either.

    Knicks- Lol okay.

    Toronto- suuuure

Rockets will be just fine without Bosh, they may not be a contender next year, but they will be just fine. Maybe look to Amar'e or just stick to your guns in the draft like moving up or just picking at 14.

If Chris Bosh doesn't want to play for Houston, there's nothing Morey can offer Toronto to get him to play here. This wish list = the end of the Bosh pursuit, if true.

This "wish list", with the partial exception of the Lakers, corresponds exactly with every big, media-hyped market with cap room. Maybe that's what Bosh wants, but sources - especially under the condition of anonymity - have a tendency to pass off opinions as actual knowledge. The fact that that list of five teams is exactly what the mainstream thought process is, without any surprise or deviation, makes me a little skeptical. We'll see.

Did you see Amar'e "defense" in Game 2?

So then we're not set for the future. Getting a Bosh type player was a big part of the Rockets plans -- without one, they're not going to be very good.

Morey needs to make his biggest splash yet this summer.

I'm thinking that Top 10 Reasons Why Bosh Should Come to Houston thread might need to be amended......

I said it before and I'll say it again--Bosh wants no part of being the Alpha Dog. He might have had that quote that says just as much but he was not only referring to being the man in Toronto but also asking why wouldn't FAs come to Toronto rather than having him go to another team. Simple fact is that Bosh knows he can't shoulder the burden of being the Alpha Dog.

He's at a crossroad in his career and it's eerily similar to two other bigs in the league right now:

One All-Star power forward was the man for his team for more than a decade, whose team would get knocked out of the playoffs year after year, and couldn't get his first ring until he banded with two other All-Stars 11 years into his career

One All-Star power forward was the man for his team for 7 years, whose team would get knocked out of the playoffs year after year, and couldn't get his first ring until he became one of the best Second Bananas in LA.

Bosh probably don't want to wait around for a whole decade being Da Man to get his first crack at a ring and would rather have a chance to play in the Finals year after year.

"But he would be the Man in Chicago"

In terms of salary and stature, yes, but they have an All-Star in Rose who has been playoff tested and proven and a borderline All-Star in Noah who can easily mask Bosh's average defense. Of course if the rumor is true that Bosh will turn Robin to LeBron's Batman and go to Chicago, then there's obviously no way Bosh can be considered as the top guy on the team.

"But he could/would be the Man in New York"

The Knicks signing Bosh means that their attempts to get LeBron and Wade failed so they would do the next best thing--getting Bosh. Of course getting Bosh and Joe Johnson in the same summer would be a boon for any team but that Knick team without a bonafide Alpha Dog (i.e. LeBron and Wade) wouldn't make it past the Celtics, the Magic, or any Eastern Conference team LeBron decides to go to. If anything, him putting the Knicks on the list probably means he wants to stay close to Toronto (has a home there?) and/or he just wants to play at MSG.

But definitely keep me posted on that much-needed Top 10 Reasons Why Bosh Should Come to Houston guys.

I have just one concern on this trade. If you look at the statistic, Aaron Brooks has scored more "points" last year than Chris Paul. I have discovered that the team with more of these points wins the game. So I am concerned about trading more points for less points.

I would have liked to get Bosh, but if it is not likely to happen...let's look at our roster.

PG: Brooks, Lowry (assuming he is re-signed)
    SG: Martin, Taylor
    SF: Ariza, Battier, Budinger
PF: Scola (assuming he is re-signed), Hill, Jeffries
    C: Yao, Hayes, Andersen

Assuming Yao is healthy, we don't really have a "weak" position in there. Things we could need would be: More size/strength/defense at the guard positions, a backup center with size and shot-blocking capabilities who can give Yao some time to rest.

I do think we would need someone of superstar caliber to put us over the top and make us contenders, unless Yao really comes back to how he played at his peak and stays healthy. We also need to consider that Brooks doesn't have a lot of years left on his contract and will expect to be paid handsomely.

The only players who I think would be worth the gamble and might possibly put us over the top (aside from the obvious Lebron who I do not think considers Houston a possible destination) and where I think there could be a minimal chance of getting them are:

    - Dwyane Wade (IF he tells Miami he wants to start over - they have not managed to surround him with enough talent in years)
    - Chris Paul (because of the emergence of Darren Collison)

Problem with Wade is that I doubt Pat Riley would pull the trigger on any trade we could offer. Problem with Paul is that our main asset for a trade is really Brooks (way underpaid, tons of talent) in combination with one or two of the albatros contracts we have, but NO's rationale for letting Paul go would be that they already have someone else at the PG at a cheaper price, so they would probably want to upgrade other positions first.

So I think for anything to happen in terms of a trade for either of these two guys, it would have to be a three-way.

But even if we don't get another superstar, I think we have a very competitive team that should definitely make the playoffs at the very least with a healthy Yao.

hey, it seems you are pissed off. if you keep doing, are you going to lock down this thread.

i have been arguing with many fans here. if you don't believe yao, you shouldn't dream bosh. it's simple and plain. fans here publicly brashed yao. the action is same as you broadcast to the world that our team sucks since the best player can't play and worth a pack of potatos. or maybe i rush my conclusion. maybe morey is setting up a smoking gun. he doesn't want to bosh at all.

now it's time to think about rebuilding this team. my suggestion is to let yao walk away if he declines his option. there is no reason to take a risk since no chance this team will be a title contender even yao comes back completely injury free. w/o another elite player, i don't see any chance.

Oh well, can live with it.

I'll go ahead and jump on the Jefferson train than, particularly since it appears that Darko has left completely worthless scrub territory while in Minnesota, and is a fan favorite who seems to work better with Love than Big Al, who seems to be out of things (Darko's said he wants to stay in Minnesota too). Maybe we can get our hands on him then.

maybe i am wrong. al doesn't play much defense. how many years he is in the league. if he hasn't played defense, don't expect he will change. i don't believe he fits very well with our team.
