the bulls and knicks are probably on the list only because he can join lebron there. the heat might be a backup plan if he can't join lebron, he can at least join wade.

i don't think the lakers would even be interested in moving bynum for him. they would be getting smaller and losing a shot blocker. 2 reasons why they are so dominant in the playoffs. would the raps settle for odom and change? and would bosh b happy with less minutes than expected? probably n to both.

we are probably 5th on the list behind the thunder, as he could play with durant there. the problem is it looks like he wants to pair with another star, and yao doesn't look like he will return as a superstar. at least not next year.

I think we will all survive if Chris Bosh doesn't join our team.

I don't know how all the cap stuff works but a Westbrook-Harden-Durant-Bosh combo looks real good on paper.

I agree, he does not seem like an alpha dog player, more of a Rudy Gay.....a guy who puts up good numbers but they don't translate to wins.

The parameters are taking shape, though they are a long way from becoming clear. So much needs to happen before Chris Bosh decides where he wants to play next season, and the gears truly begin to grind. The NBA title needs to be decided and the draft needs to be conducted. And, by the way, LeBron James lords over the entire landscape, the biggest domino basketball has ever seen.

But the process has begun. According to a league source, Chris Bosh has given the Toronto Raptors a list that names his preferred destinations as a free agent. The list includes New York, Chicago, Miami, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Raptors themselves. The existence of the list was first reported by espn.com.

According to league sources with knowledge of the situation, that list also included the New Jersey Nets, who have some quality pieces and a new owner, Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov. New Jersey is also set to move to Brooklyn as soon as 2012, where Prokhorov seems determined to turn the Nets into one of the league's glamour franchises.

The list was composed and delivered before New Jersey fell to No. 3 in the lottery, however, and missed out on projected No. 1 pick John Wall of Kentucky.

And before anybody gets overheated, none of this is carved in stone, just yet. The competitive landscape of the NBA has never have been this uncertain, this fluid. In Ohio, LeBron and his coterie of advisors are deciding where he will sign, and the two-time MVP's decision looms over the landscape like a skyscraper on the prairie.

In Miami Dwyane Wade, a player whose impact could be comparable to LeBron's - believe it - is doing the same. James, Wade and Bosh are all represented under the umbrella of the Creative Artists Agency, and will drive the league's agenda this summer.

    ...

It is a puzzle with so many moving pieces, and featuring so many teams with salary-cap space or a deep desire to strike gold, that to predict how the NBA will look by the end of the summer is a fool's errand. You might as well try to predict the weather for a Tuesday in May, five years from now.

But Bosh's list is the first concrete glimpse into his priorities, and the attendant options. The five-time all-star said in his exit interview that should he sign elsewhere, he would work with Toronto on a sign-and-trade. That would enable Toronto to reap some pennies on the dollar, and enable Bosh to sign a maximum contract worth up to US$125-million.

What does the list reveal? Bosh clearly wants to play in a big city, though not too near his hometown of Dallas. He would like to win, though if he goes to the New York Knicks with any less of a running mate than James or Wade, that prospect dims considerably.

As for the sign-and-trade options - well, Chicago won't give up rugged centre Joakim Noah, though he would be the first thing the Raptors would ask for. New York's David Lee might be available, though the Raptors would immediately have the most defensively porous frontcourt in NBA history. Miami's troubled Michael Beasley isn't terribly appealing; the Nets aren't quite overflowing with talent.

As for the Lakers, a potential sign-and-trade for oft-injured but potential-laden centre Andrew Bynum has been the subject of intense speculation, but it is believed the two teams have not held substantive discussions since before the all-star break.

And after all that, the door isn't closed on Toronto, or almost anywhere. Cleveland is at a crossroads; Miami is at a crossroads; Toronto is at a crossroads. Dozens of franchises await direction, however it comes. The league awaits its future. The NBA's summer of tumult is almost here. Get ready.[/rquoter]

RicBucher FWIW: Nets were on the wish list Bosh gave to Raptors as well. Consensus is Raptors were gratuitous inclusion + he'll go somewhere in S&T.

I like how you use "per 36" to make your point. Yet won't look at raw numbers. You also only cherry-pick the stats that are comparable, yet you won't look at stats that really matter. It's not that statistics are lies, but rather people manipulating statistics to fit their own agenda. It's sad, especially for a fan of a team run by Morey, and one who uses a great site like basketball-reference which provides incredible statistical data. But refuse to use it to the full extent because that would destroy your core argument. Indeed, statistics in hands of the ignorant is usually worse than not using it at all.

Biggest problem:Why do you use FG% when there's TS% right next to it? When, as a Rockets fan, you should've already known just how much Morey values free throw shooting and it's power on a team(especially with Yao).

    TS%
    Bosh: 59.2%
    Scola: 55%
Bosh with huge advantage. Why? Because he goes to the line 8.4 times per game and Scola goes 3.1 times. 5 extra FTs a game. Yet you feel it's meaningless because you don't want to admit that Bosh is better!? It's not even comparable. Bosh is the better scorer. To even argue that point is indeed ridiculous.

Problem 2: You know who's comparable to Scola in per 36 numbers?? Per 36 numbers are great. But using it badly makes for stupid comparisons. There's a reason why JVG and Adelman both put up with T-Mac shooting 20 times a game despite having one of the worst FG% on the team. Because he's a volume scorer.

That said, rebounding is one area that Scola's elite. So yes, he is comparable to Bosh in this regards. But your methodology is off.

Problem 3: Ignoring everything else. I like how you give just a passing mention of blocks because Scola can't do it at all.

Anyway, if you look at PER, which is mainly an aggregate of all the relevant stathead stats, Bosh comes out at 25 and Scola's at 17. That's basically statistical domination of nth degree. You can argue that PER isn't good, but it's the one stat that incorporates all stats. So from a statistical point of view, Bosh > Scola PERIOD.

    meh, preach brotha man!

That and Bosh can get away (if needed) to guard opposing C's. Something Scola really can't get away with.

That might be true because Jordan Hill DOMINATES in NBA 2k10.

Doesn't bother me one way or another,

I like our team with or without him. Because we have Jordan Hill, who I'm pretty sure is working on his game with Carroll Dawson. Don't give up on the youth of this team.
