If push comes to shove, the rockets are probably his plan C or D in the end of all this. I think he's being swayed by Wade and their agent. Miami and Chicago are two pretty good places to live (especially when your just 26yrs old).

The heat with calderon, wade, turkeyglu and bosh would have zero defense and depth, and be capped out of any meaningful additions. No way pat riley or dwade accept that.

Time is an interesting issue -

If bosh delays a lot and boozer negotiates a deal with miami to pair with wade, Riley could just go ahead and take that rather than risk losing wade to chicago and have him pair w boozer. So, one interesting angle is if boozer tels chicago, NJ and miami, I'm ready to sign for 13MM. Do chicago and miami risk loosing him based on the possibility of getting bosh?

This. Also, this is the exact reason I was hoping Amare would sign with the Heat, leaving bosh for us. As it is, unless Toronto completely refuses Bosh the sign and trade option to the Heat, I see him going there. Even though they have only 2 people under contract, I trust Pat Riley to round up some old veterans and put together a decent enough roster to be a competitor. Again, the only hurdle in this plan, and perhaps to our benefit, is if Toronto refuses to deal with the Heat. But even then, like Jump shooter said, seems like Bosh still considers Cleveland and NJ over us....

Rockets fan here. Should I cheer for LBJ & DWade to stay home, or for some combo to go to Chicago without a S&T for Bosh? or for something else?

12:21 Chad Ford, ESPN Insider: You should be cheering Bryan Colangelo to start playing hardball with Bosh. It's pretty clear that getting that sixth year and the extra $30 mil is a BIG deal to Bosh. Only way he gets it is with Colangelo's permission. If Rockets offer the best deal, I think Colangelo should tell Bosh ... it's either Houston for $125 milliion or Miami for $95 million. I think Bosh would blink.

------
PDcavsinsider Again, all predicated on Bosh's desires. Which is predicated on LeBron/Wade. Round and round it goes.

PDcavsinsider From what I hear Raptors & Cavs not as far down line on sign-and-trade as is being reported. There have been some talks, not serious yet.
--------
johnhollinger: My best Cavs-Raps S&T -- Bosh and Turk for Jamison, West, Moon and Powe. Saves Raps $10 mil, replaces Bosh, dumps Turk.

Bryant and Gasol play in LA. LA is a great place to live. You can't really knock a guy for not wanting to live in Cleveland when his alternatives are Miami, Chicago and Houston. Like Noah said "do you like being in Cleveland"?

Although I've long doubted Bosh would go to Houston, there's a reality that you cant compete against the hundred million dollar men by being near the salary cap.

actually I prefer him being obtuse yes it causes everyone grief and tests everyone's patience but the more he does this and upsets the Toronto front office the better our chances get. So far we have heard NOTHING about possible packages from Chicago or Miami outside of the rejects Beasley and Deng deals which is fine since i dont think Toronto wants to take trash or long contracts in return. which leads me to believe that miami will just offer back toronto its own pick (probably lotto) and possibly another future first (high teens to 20s) and chicago may just offer future picks (if they get bosh and keep noah/wade then those are mid 20s)

I dont know how Coangelo is going to be able to spin that to the toronto fan base after it just lost its third franchise type player in his prime (mcgrady, carter, and bosh) imagine having to preach patience to a fan base like that. at least with getting a player like Hill, Ariza or Brooks whatever the combo may be they can put out a much more competitive product NOW will still building for the future with the picks from NY.

the longer it drags out it may come down to that Toronto may just say listen you've pissed us off enough with all of this either the houston package or let your bank account be 30 million lighter.

BINGO, I was about to post the same comment from that chat. I think right there is the entire KEY to this Bosh scenario.

I heard that but the thing is is that altho Bosh has turned down Lebrons recruiting efforts, TOR are willing to trade with the Cavs so that could be an interesting development against us..that extra yr is wat he desires most and that was our main driving point but idk anymore.. hopefully he really hates CLE enuf

From a basketball stand point, sure I can. If he's getting the full max, and a chance to play with Labron on a 60 win team, to reject that......

It can work, but only if TOR believes HOU can give the best deal. For what its worth, we haven't been mentioned much by TOR. I think Bosh has shown us more love than the team.

Says a lot about him doesn't it....and it is one of the biggest reasons I am not sold on him as a Rocket completely.

Seems like he is more about the "fame" than about winning basketball games, and we have had enough of that around here.

Since they apparently like the CLE deal, couldn't they easily say its either Cleveland for $125M or Miami for $95M? Seems likely they'd say that before a Houston mention.

Its funny how Miami and Chicago were dumping assets at all costs and now its going to take assets to truly get a deal done. Even if the rockets don't get Bosh, you have to credit Morey for anticipating this setup.

It's odd really, he can never really be that famous, he actually looks too unnaturally awkward to ever be really famous.

It works for him, but it doesn't for advertising campaigns.

I understand not wanting to play in LeBron's shadow. Beyond that, there are additional perks to coming to a place like Houston over Cleveland (China factor, etc...).

Uhh.

LeBron hasn't committed to playing in Cleveland.

"Everything"? If "everything" were true, Bosh would be playing in Chicago, Houston and Miami all at once.

I'm just not understanding....Why in the HELL would you want to make another Eastern conference team better by trading them in your same conference

You would think that would be a bad idea, trade him to the other conference!!!!
